 I can't take it. I'm just going to be beside myself watching every moment that he's in the film.

I love that Joey is featured in the movie too!

I didn't notice until you said it! Nice for him and makes the scene all the more amusing.

I'm starting to think this will not get a DVD release in the US. I haven't been able to find any links to pre-order it. Although US Netflix has the dvd available for rent when it comes out.

Maybe because it looks like it will be in some theaters.

Fandango has it listed

NEW CLIP

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Is A Washed-Up Ex-Punk In This Exclusive Ordinary World Clip

In this exclusive clip from the film, Fred Armisen helps ring in his friend Perry's birthday the only way he truly knows how: by publicly humiliating him and calling him a sellout in front of a whole bunch of people he may or may not know. Fun times!

I've seen the trailer, and thats enough. I'm not expecting much, a goofy comedy starring the dude who practically gave me half of my vocabulary.

Ordinary World (Blu-ray + Digital HD) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LYNUF9S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_19J7xbGTQG3DF

interestingly enough even blu-ray.com has it listed as Dec release date and they have a  direct relationship with Universal

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Ordinary-World-Blu-ray/165364/

The mtv link with the sneak peek has this "Ordinary World hits theaters, Digital HD, and On Demand on October 14, 2016" so maybe the DVD/Blu has been delayed until Dec

Is it ominous that they chose a clip where Billie only says two words?

Sorta what I thought too. But hey, those two words were delivered the way they should've been. It gave me the most appropriate sense of secondhand embarrassment.

Judy Greer impressed by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong in first movie leading role

Actress Judy Greer has heaped praise on Green Day star Billie Joe Armstrong's acting talents after teaming up with the rocker for new film Ordinary World.

The American Idiot singer plays an ageing punk in his first lead role, and The Descendants star Greer believes he has a big future as a movie star.

The actress, who plays an old girlfriend, admits Billie Joe's involvement was one of the reasons she signed on for the movie - Armstrong's second foray into film acting in two years after he appeared in 2014's Like Sunday, Like Rain.

"I wanted to work with Billie Joe Armstrong, he's amazing," she tells Press Association. "I have been a Green Day fan since forever. I thought he was brilliant and it was so fun to watch him and work with him."

And she really liked hanging out with the singer too, adding, "He's a total peach. He is such a normal guy. He loves his sons and his wife and all his dogs and just loves to play music. I thought it was such a good role for him."

Did anyone get a ticket for this event? The tickets were free and it's now listed as "sold out" I wonder if Billie will sign autographs or play a song since it looks like a small event.

Sold out? What do you mean? I just registered for it.

(So I guess that answers the question about going ...)

Last night it was listed as "sold out" Maybe this morning they opened additional seats. Glad you got a ticket though! Looks like it'll be a cool little event even if it only lasts 30 minutes.

Mhmm. I leave back to Philly on that date and I didn't realize that until after I booked the ticket :D
At least it's early in the day so no issues arise for me regarding that.

I wonder how much he'll talk this time around. It'll be live stream, so at least people can watch it.

I emailed the event organizer last night and asked about a possible signing or performance. This is what he wrote back. I guess I expected this but it's still a bit of a bummer. Oh well, it's free so can't complain too much. Also,is there a thread for this? I didn't see one.

Hello,

Unfortunately there will be no performance or meet & greets at this event.

See you at the show!

Honestly haven't been paying much attention to this movie, but when's the release date? And is it going to another 'select theaters' movie like every Green Day thing to hit theaters has? :P

OK, I officially legitimately do need to start marking all these things on a calendar. There's so much happening! This is really cool.

I ordered the dvd on Amazon and it will be delivered on Dec. 6 but it comes out this month. I can't remember the date. If it comes to our theater I will definitely go see it on the big screen.

Lol what's with all of you and DVD?  It's 2016, blu-ray or bust, baby!  I honestly cannot watch dvds anymore without thinking "this does not look good".

Listen to 'Rolling Stone Music Now' Podcast: Fred Armisen

he talks about spoofing the Talking Heads, meeting Prince, working with Billie Joe Armstrong

Rolling Stone's Andy Greene: So you worked with Billie Joe Armstrong, on a movie recently.

Fred Armisen: Yeah.
and you sort of formed a fake band with him so,
Fred Armisen: Yeah.
What did you learn from that experience?
Fred Armisen: um, we have some roots together, like we played in the same circles in the early 90's. And uh, he is, the most positive person, which is really, you don't see that a whole lot. But he is really an optimist. And he has, he doesn't have any like, chip on his shoulder about anything. He likes to play music, loves punk, loves his family, and approached to do a movie in a way that was like yeah, in kind of the way I approach things, like I don't know let's try it. Let's see what this is like.
Andy Greene: Did you help him learn how to act?
Fred Armisen: No, no, he did, he didn't need any help. But also, it's gonna sound like fake humility, I don't know how to act? I'm not like, I don't walk into these situations like this is how you do it. I'm still, no matter many how many years I've been doing this, I still walk in like going I think this is what they want. I don't know, y'know.
