"Ordinary World" movie starring Billie Joe

My guess is it is a $$$$$$  thing.   It costs money to release a film.  The movie is very cute and a must see for all GD fans but I seriously doubt it will beat Suicide Squad at the box office.

Shame about the name change, Geezer was interesting/attention grabbing but Ordinary Day is, well, ordinary :P

Suppose I should update the thread title!

I agree, Geezer was a much better title. Especially for a non-native speaker, I had to google what 'Geezer' meant in the first place and then became interested. Everyone knows what an ordinary day is :D If they at least stuck with "Ordinary World", as a tribute to Billie but oh well :) Guess we can't have everything

Ordinary day sounds more like a drama where Geezer hinted more towards a comedy. I'm not happy with the name change.

Yeah seems a weird name change, Geezer sounded a lot more interesting. I think even Ordinary World would have been better, since the song's in the movie though that wouldn't have been too attention grabbing either. Oh well. Hope it doesn't affect the movie's chances to be picked up. I want to see it!

I actually preferred Ordinary World to Geezer, but Ordinary Day is definitely bottom of the pile.  Geezer sounds interesting and makes me want to know more, Ordinary World could be about coming to terms with how ordinary the world is or something, Ordinary Day sounds like a children's film yet also a bit dull.  If it's released they'll have a tough job promoting it I think.

It really is a children's film.  Or more exact, a family film.  Maybe the name change is to market to the correct audience.  Geezer gives it more of an adult only sound.  Ordinary Day makes it more universal.  However, I do think Ordinary World would have been better.

Well, it felt more like a drama than a comedy to me, so I think it makes sense.  Also, after sitting through the film, hearing the director and BJA speak about it at Tribeca, I never really thought it made sense to call it Geezer.  Ordinary World isn't the best, but it's better than Geezer.

I can't judge what's more fitting as I didn't see it but Geezer has always sounded to me like a title of a movie Adam Sandler will make when he hits his 50s.

This. I need to check the credits maybe John Roecker was involved.

If that's the case we may be waiting a long time... HLAHG was finally released 11 years after AI came out. Perhaps we may see Ordinary Day in 2027 ;)

Ordinary Day is a terrible title. They should have stuck with ordinary world. Then they could have used the Studio version of the song Ordinary World for the end titles, it would have been perfect. It is a family movie, you could bring little kids to it. It's cute. I hope they go back to "Ordinary World" though.

Yep, looks like it is that actually (thank goodness!).  I'll change the thread title again.

Ordinary Day almost seemed like a mistake on the website's part. Doesn't make any sense when the song is called Ordinary World. Glad it's changed back, whatever the case may be.

Maybe just the US unless Universal has worldwide rights to it next month check your Amazon and see if a pre order is available there or if you'd have to import it

Actually a day and date release means it will be released to theater and streaming at the same time.  It is becoming common practice for small indie films that are not dependent on making huge sums of money.  So I think this means a limited theatrical release since you will  e able to stream it on the same day

Just depends on what kind of deal they have uphe has rights but they do non exclusives and exclusive deals meaning with a non exclusive they only have the rights in that region so a international company could own rights in outside countries

Cool...so we finally get to see it in October :D Here's hoping this doesn't mean that they release Ordinary World as a single in Oct to coincide with the movie release :( That song is woeful.
