oh yeah, the flashback specifically said it was in 1995, even without doing math on the 20 years later. I just meant that we don't technically know how much later the tour was with Mudhoney. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, the tour w/ Mudhoney would've had to be a much more recent thing than the 90s, since Salome doesn't seem to be that old. Does anyone recall if they mentioned her age? Or what grade she was in? IMDB says the actress is 13, but it's common enough for actors to play slightly younger roles than what they actually are. Even if we use Madisyn's age as a baseline, though, the Mudhoney tour would've had to be in 2001/2002. This makes even less sense now. :P

You're right, the time frame really doesn't make sense.

I believe her character was between the ages of 9-11 in the film, but I'm not completely sure

Just to throw out another perspective, I kind of dragged my husband to the Geezer premiere ,since he's a much more casual fan,  but now he's much more interested in and has a new appreciation for  Green Day and Billie Joe. He was blown away by Billie's stage presence. He said he really came across as a great person, just really nice and genuine.  Hubby also loved Billie's passionate,  raw delivery of the music..the way it wasn't about getting every note right or being totally slick, but being true to the songs.

I don't mind giving you a summary, if you actually want one, but I honestly can't tell if you are serious or not.

a summary would be awesome, I doubt I'll be seeing the movie for a long time so if you've seen it, then I'd love to know what happens.

Thankyou!

Heh, I actually brought my boyfriend along, who is a relative newbie to all things non-classical music, and he not only enjoyed the film but said that the performance afterward was the best that he'd been to with me, despite the fact that it was only 5 songs!

I bought my dad along to this. My mother has been to a GD show with me and fell more in love with their music and the band (specifically Billie) after that.
It was his turn to experience this as he works about a block away from the venue itself.

Anyhow, my dad did enjoy the film and the performance. I kind of ran up when the performance started and left him in the back but... anyway, my father said he enjoyed the music, the performance, and that he was moving his head along to it all.
Now he's even more pumped to attend a Green Day show the next time they tour

Hubby doesn't like GD, he just puts up with them because he has too.  However, he said that he was surprised how dynamic he was on stage and wished he had played more.  I guess that paves the way for every GD concert between Boston and Philadelphia

But of course.
Naturally.
Captivating presences on stage can sway people and it's lovely to witness.

So I live in Dublin.

Is this likely to be released generally, or in indie cinemas?

Or is this going straight to DVD/Netflix ???

Someone said it will have a theatrical release in the fall, but not how widespread it will be.  So basically, no clue.

I also wanna watch Geezer but I don't even know when it'll be possible... A question for those who have watched it :D Did Billie sing the songs (Devil's Kind, Ordinary World) acapella or live on stage - in this movie ?

Spoiler

Devil's Kind was played by the character's band at the beginning of the movie during a flashback scene.

Ordinary World: He sings it with an acoustic guitar to show his former manager a song he just wrote.  It's also used as background music in the end of the movie.

What Do You guys think about "Devil's Kind" for me its killer song. Best since long time.

I thought it was fantastic, especially with the way Billie used it as the intro. I love the way he fools around with his guitar before American Idiot, he did something similar with Devils Kind.

"Devil's Kind" has been struck in my head all day! The way he can create these melodies that stick with you is phenomenal.

I love it too and I like it more, the more I listen to it.  I also love Ordinary World as well, but for different reasons.  He performed both songs so well on Saturday.  However, I do think some of the songs he wrote for These Paper Bullets were just as good, if not better.

How much is Fred Armisen in the movie? I love that guy

He's in a pretty good portion of it! Billie and him are fun together.

Hey guys, I recorded an "instrumental"(only the guitar part) cover of "Ordinary World", I know it's not perfect but I liked the song and I think it turned out great!

I would actually say that Fred had the second biggest part.  Billie is actually in it 99% of the film.  Off the top of my head I can only think of a few parts, very few parts, that Billie is not in.  The movie is about 1 hour and 30 min long and Billie was probably in it for 1 hour and 28 min.  Fred was probably 30 min

Pretty sure Fred was second billed, so that sounds right

I seriously can't wait to see him on screen for a whole film! He's really only been in tiny little bits of things before, even in Like Sunday Like Rain where he was billed as if he was a main character. I knew he'd have to be in this more being the "geezer" and top billed but I still assumed his screen time would be minimised somehow. Very pleased to hear it isn't!
