I'll be honest... I have never had legit NYC pizza. BUT we do have a couple NYC Style pizza places and that, I agree is already pretty good. So if real NYC pizza tops that (which I assume it will) I will have no problem admitting that NYC pizza is better than Chicago pizza (Deep Dish).

But its sort of like comparing apples to oranges... they are two totally different types of pizza.

On another note: Lizziebix is right, our thin crust pizza is where it's at. I would take Chicago style thin crust pizza over deep dish any day. Also agree with her on the whole folding thing WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO FOLD YOUR PIZZA IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!! It's best the way it is :)

Chicago style thin crust: Thin buttery crust, normally a lot of cheese, whatever other magic they put into it, and cut into squares instead of triangles.

Well when you're here in just under 3 weeks, you shall have to fold the pizza.
I mean, when in New York... Gotta act like a New Yorker.

Alright guys, Ill get back to this thread with the results once I give it a try. I'm a pretty open minded guy so I will try my best to leave my Chicagoan bias out.

New Yorkers of this thread: any good places you would recommend? (I would try it if I could JJ but I probably won't be near CT)

Can't believe there is pizza conversation going on and I'm not that involved. This is a first.

If anyone is in the NY area and is interested, I just noticed that they added another showing of Geezer at the festival.  They are just showing the movie on Sunday afternoon.  That must mean they had a really good response.  But, I bet they don't realize it was more for the performance than the movie.

But there won't be a performance that night, hence the 23$ price tag.
$20 bucks to see a small performance then...but it is at SVA, so nice.
Despite that most people may have been attracted to the event because of the performance, I think people would be happy to see Billie on-screen regardless.

So...because I want to keep the hope of their being a small show that weekend alive and it appears as of right now that Billie won't be performing on Sunday after the screening...
Is there a chance he may still make an appearance at that second screening?
Will there be something afterward???

I know that is why it is $23, I said they are just showing the movie.

I don't know how many GD fans would be going on Sunday.  Everyone that said they were going on Saturday or traveling to go got tickets.  So there really isn't much reason to not go to the performance unless you absolutely could not make it on Saturday.

I don't think there is anything on Sunday other than the movie.  I think they just added it because the show sold out in 10 min.

I would not hold my breath for a secret show.  IT would be nice if he did, but this about Geezer not GD so I would expect him to be focused on the movie promotion.  I would expect that he will play the songs from the movie at the performance so there would be no need for a secret show.

No, I know. Just adding information to the thread.

Most likely but it'd still be nice.
Either way, Billie has been performing , which just adds to us wanting a fix of anything from any of the guys (or at least moi).

Let's hope the movie is good enough to see twice.  However, there is so much to see in NYC, take advantage of the hours.

Yes  and if there's a possibility that Mike and Tre could show up to see Billie's first starring role in a movie, there also a teeny tiny possibility of a secret show somewhere AFTER the screening....not much of a chance but a tiny one, anyway :D

i'm kinda hoping that the movie is just an hour and a half version of this:

I'm kinda hoping it is a hell of alot more than just a spoof.  It is listed as a comedy/drama so I'm thinking a mid-life crisis coming of age film.  Maybe in the line of That Thing You do.  If Billie is good in it it would give the film more cred than just a comedy spoof.

They previewed it at Cannes.  I would have to think the producers at least think it is a bit more.

If it's any good, I hope it gets picked by a distributor that night and makes it to mainstream theaters eventually.

Lol folding the pizza just makes it easier to hold (as the slices can sometimes be large and kind of floppy, especially with heavy toppings). But you don't necessarily *have* to eat it that way. It's just a lot easier to handle. Also, when I was a kid, I remember I used to like biting the middle of the pizza while it was folded to make eyeholes lol

Neat that they added another showing for Sunday! It's possible Billie will still show up to that one, but he'd prob just be watching and not performing after like he is on Saturday, given the reduced ticket price. Kinda like how all three guys used to show up to performances of the AI musical whenever they were in town, but most of the time, they were just in the audience.
