I agree, It will be the songs from the movie, but there is a good possibility of a new Green Day demo...even my husband mentioned this possibility, and he is purely objective about this!

Another question I have, is what is this venue like? Has anyone been in here? How many people do you think they sold tickets to?

This is the 6th floor event space at the address and here is a photo of well, the 6th floor. It also states that the max capacity is 1000 people but we shall see. I think 600-800 sounds like a good amount.

I have to find this article I read a while ago about it, when I do I will post it... it should give us a good idea as to how many people we are looking at.

I don't know if this is the article you were talking about but here's an article that mentions numbers and hours as well.

I've never been to one of these, but I'm going casual chic.  I found a cute red suede mini skirt with some fringes on it, a tank top and either a short denim jacket or a short leather jacket.  I think I might go with the leather.  Hubby is going to wear his Crimpshrine T-shirt, nice jeans, a sport jacket and boots.  My biggest issue is shoes.   My wedges would look great with the outfit, but they are 4 inches.  If I do end up with a photo op, I will be 5 inches taller.  So my biggest issue is do I wear the wedges and look super cute and have Billie stare at my chest for a potential picture or wear sandals and only be slightly taller for the potential photo op.  Hmmm, I think I just answered my own question.

Late to the party, but I got tickets too! ^.^ Bringing the boyfriend along. He hasn't seen Billie's acting skillz yet, so this should be interesting LOL

Im thinking ill probably wear a nice pair of jeans, dress-ish shoes, and maybe a nice sweater or collared button down. Probably not a tie but hey, if thats what he wants to do I think it's cool! I used to wear a bow-tie to work. Do we know if there a dress code for this? I might end up calling and asking before I leave for NYC.

It would be funny if everyone on GDC comes all dressed up while the rest of the audience wears shorts and a Green Day t-shirt.

My flight gets in at 11:30 - and then I've got to get into New York, find where I'm staying, and then find this - then I'll probably just start queuing as it'll be lateish by the time I get there.

It starts at eight and they recommend being there an hour early, so I was thinking two hours early would be plenty for a group of only 800 people. Are you going to stand there for 8 hours?

I'm thinking of getting to Spring Studios around 6 pm, after we have an early dinner somewhere. Any restaurant recommendations in the neighborhood?  We are staying 2 blocks from Spring Studios so we'd like to walk everywhere.

I would imagine there would be a different line for ticket holders and those waiting for rush tickets.  I can't see them mixing the two.

Not sure if I will be waiting exactly 8 hours but I'll probably at least walk by and scan the place every hour or so and hop in line once I see it start to form. I'll occupy my time with other things while waiting.

I don't think you need to wait 8 hours.  I want to be up close too, but this is at max 800 person occupancy.  That is very small.  The rush people need to wait long because their only changes of getting tickets are to be at the front of the line.

8 hours is definitely too long. I was thinking of arriving in Tribeca around 4 or 5, probably walk around and have some food, and once I see a line forming, to maybe stand there (depending on the amount of people there -not talking about the rush line).

As for attire, I will probably show up in nice jeans, a blouse and nice shoes-maybe a small heel. Nothing too fancy.

800 people is actually quite a bit. I just came back from a small Weezer show/album signing at a record store in Brooklyn. It was only 300 people but still the line wrapped around the block.

How is this going to work? It looks like a level room that isn't on an incline. Not the usual set-up for a movie.

300 people is alot for a album signing, but 800 is about the same size as a large movie theater.  It really is not alot of people for a show.  I have no idea how they are going to set it up.  We will find out in 22 days.

Yeah, it was a show and a signing. Actually pretty cool place (Rough Trade Records). The record store has a music venue and bar in the back (see here).

I can't wait to see how the Tribeca event is set up! It's gonna be a fun spring evening.

That was really cool, you are lucky to have seen them that close.  Yes, I'm excited.  It should be a great time!
