"Ordinary World" movie starring Billie Joe

I keep thinking of new things, but maybe since it is the Saturday end to the festival maybe Robert DeNiro will be there.  How cool would that be, to meet Billie and Bobby D at the same show.

As far as clothes, I'm banking on nice casual.  I might either wear a nice mini-skirt or my Stevie Nicks maxi skirt.  I'm not sure yet.  I hope it is warm enough for sandals because I'm 5'8" and I don't want to have to bend down for a proper picture, given the opportunity.

And Billie is actually quite a good actor.  He has to work on his delivery but his facial expressions and body language are outstanding.

Don't doubt that this is a great role for him, that's for sure.

Meeting both of them would be great.

Do you think Billie'd  stick around for people to meet him? I've never been to anything like this so I don't know how it works. If so, you could bring a box for him to stand on :)LOL

I'm 5'4' so I'm good!

And I agree, I think his acting in the movie is going to be pretty good, it's a perfect role for him. It's going to be a fun movie.

Are we sure a q&A and/or performance is still following the movie? The confirmation email says:

  • Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 8:00 PM to 9:26 PM (EDT)

That's only the runtime for the film...

I love Robert De Niro but hear he's quite shy and stand offish in public. Jeez, have you seen him on Letterman!? I'm guessing Fred Armisen will show up.

tickets are sold out now, wow Im glad everyone was able to get them. I was planning on wearing a GD T-shirt... maybe not though now that you guys are talking bout fancy stuff. If you want to play it safe, I think business casual is always fine for almost any event.

It

It wasn't TriBeCa but I went to a festivial with a movie and a performance . The performer wasn't Billie level famous but she sat in the audience during the movie and talked to fans after.

billie will also perform there?

From the Tribeca Film Festival website:

  • With a special live performance from Billie Joe Armstrong following the film.

What do you think he'll play? I was at the Foreverly show last year (see my video snippets) and no Green Day songs were played. I'm thinking he's gonna stay away from Green Day songs again and will play the songs from the film. Maybe he'll sneak in a GD demo. What do you think?

I can see him leaving out Green Day songs as they are not associated with the movie, only Billie is.
However, it'd be enjoyable either way.

(Also, this is why I'm hoping for a secret show cause I think we need our live Green Day fix soon)

Yep, I'm keeping my eyes peeled! Seeing Green Day...er, The Foxboro Hot Tubs...at Don Hills back in 2010 is my favorite concert experience to date.

My guess is it will be the songs from the show. But I can see him ending with good riddance

Think anyone will accompany him? Perhaps Fred Armisen? Maybe his sons? I assume Adrienne, Joey and Jacob will be there but who knows.

It's all a mystery!

One that we will find the answer to in 24 days.

I think they are limited on time because Spring Studios has a contract with the neighborhood of tribeca in regards to time restrictions. Im assuming that he will come out right after the show, be himself for a minute or two with a little speech, then play his "6-8 songs" up until their designated time restriction. For that reason I think he will keep it somewhat formal and it actually will just be a solo performance from Billie Joe. If anyone joined him it would be Fred Armisen, but I doubt his family will join him on stage.

Spring studios has agreed to have no events go past midnight

only a limited # events per year that end before 11

only a limited # of events per year that end before 10

only a limited # of events per year that end before 9

etc. etc.

Now the show will end around 9:30. Given that we know he is expected to play between 6-8 songs I think Geezer might fall under that category of events that has to end before 10. (I am assuming the production company thought Billie could get 6-8 songs done before 10 P.M. I hope I am wrong however. Lets hope it is at least the 11 or midnight restraint. (They could have factored in time for questions and other stuff)

I think this is the most probable scenario we are facing.

It has to be at least the 11 PM curfew.  There is no way they can show a 90 minute movie and then give him the time to get set up and play 6-8 songs.   I think the short set is based more on the fact that the focus is really the movie and that the tickets were only $44

I agree, It will be the songs from the movie, but there is a good possibility of a new Green Day demo...even my husband mentioned this possibility, and he is purely objective about this!

Another question I have, is what is this venue like? Has anyone been in here? How many people do you think they sold tickets to?

Ahh another part of their agreement with the neighborhood.

The number of people was listed in each time section. I believe the Max capacity is 800 people and I think at some time frames the max was 300-400.

I have never been however the agreement I mentioned above also states..... (listed in parentheses)

only a limited # events per year that end before 11 (With between X and X amount of people)

only a limited # of events per year that end before 10 (With between X and X amount of people)

only a limited # of events per year that end before 9(With between X and X amount of people)

I have to find this article I read a while ago about it, when I do I will post it... it should give us a good idea as to how many people we are looking at.
