He's a mix of wild stuff, that little Billie ♥ Wasn't expecting this, so I'm happy to see him  and also because he's happy that his dream came true!:banana:

You know Billie is badass when he makes The Replacements look clean cut.

The Facebook comments on the Rolling Stone post are horrible. "Oh he really let himself go after rehab," "he lost his sense of style from rehab" like wtf

Based on the evidence we have so far I don't see how that can be disputed :P

His hair doesn't look like dreads, just really long and unkempt. And the suit is making him look fatter than he is, it's too big for him. This shouldn't be about his appearance though, it's him likely living out a lifelong dream of his. Really happy for him.

i hope he will look as repulsive as possible for all the fangirls and fashion"punks", so they will get back to blink128, all time low, or one direction.

every time there's a new picture of billie we always seem to notice his hair first

In this case, it kind of is forcing us to notice it, though. It's basically screaming "Oh hai! Loook at me!! Over here! On top of the tiny man!"

But really, this is great. So stoked over this. Wish i could've seen it in person.

I'm loving the footage I've seen of the Coachella gig! Anyone have a setlist from this performance yet?

He is utterly adorable

Probably the same people who complain when he wears eyeliner

Based on the evidence we have so far I don't see how that can be disputed :P

Except that both before and after rehab he's always "let himself go" when not doing stuff with the band and smartened up again when they come back. He always looks scruffy between albums/tours so to act like it's a new thing or has anything to do with rehab is asinine, especially when he's looked smart for most of the last year or so since rehab!

I'm pretty sure Billie's top priority was a dream he's probably had for 25+ years coming true and enjoying it, not whether his appearance pleases his fans or not. :P

He looks so happy, aw. Must have been awesome, happy for him!

I've always liked The Replacements but never loved them because I could never really enjoy the lead singers voice, this solves that problem! Looks like a great show was had.

HaHa! Hubby showed that to me when he opened Yahoo last night and was all, like, DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS?!! Yeah, yeah, hubby, I knew.

Regarding Billie's hobo look.... remember the time Brad Pitt grew a long gray beard and then braided it? And I think it was because he wasn't doing any films and he had actually found happiness raising his kids or something and did not give one tiny fuck what people thought about his appearance. Ultimate freedom.

And he's hot once more. You can recover from these things.

Since you can see from my username and my registration on this forum that I'm a massive Replacements and Green Day fan, I'm gonna fangirl for a moment and talk about how I was at the barricade in the center for this!

(The people in front of me here are the photographers between the barricade and the stage.)

It was so amazing. I was singing along so hard to every word, and when they were giving away the setlist one of the roadies gave it to me because of how much I was singing.

And in this video, during the "headed out to San Francisco, definitely not LA" line, when Billie kinda shakes his finger and laughs...no big deal, just us both mutually hating LA, making direct eye contact and singing the line together and then laughing together about it:

I'm not even exaggerating when I say this was my dream concert. I've always wanted Billie to do something with the 'Mats, and I've always wanted to see the 'Mats live, so I'm fucking ecstatic.

Also, a lot of people are commenting a lot on Billie's appearance, but actually he looked a lot better than the photographs seem to show (when he came out, though, a lot of people were like "who is that?" haha).

Also also, Paul Westerberg is the cutest man to see perform. He makes the best faces and has the most adorable little things he does on the stage. The couch was brilliant haha.

The Replacements Live Archives website has a ton of great bootlegs from 'Mats shows. They have one from last weekend's 'Mats Coachella show so I'm sure they'll eventually get one for this past weekend. It'll only be audio, but it'll at least be something :)

Coachella: Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Hits The Stage

There's always chitter chatter surrounding weekend two of Coachella's annual music festival about how it compares to the first weekend. It's supposed to be a less celebrity-heavy affair (although with the same lineup and supposedly similar surprise musical guests) and have a chiller vibe. But what weekend two does allow is the chance for artists to have a second chance to step up their game—like how The Replacements and Outkast did on Friday.

The Replacements played weekend one's set with some negative reviews. LAist's Emma Gallegos attended that show and noted how frontman Paul Westerberg played to a small crowd and was visibly upset when the crowd (with some millennials who are unfamiliar with the band's oeuvre) didn't sing along loud enough to their tracks.

However, as Westerberg promised in weekend one, his band's next Coachella set would be different. And it was—The Replacements had Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong (in his khaki and plaid two-piece suit) head on stage early on as a surprise guest and play throughout the show. Westerberg, who threw out his back, pretty much sat on a couch (really!) during most of the performance and performed from there. Bizarre, for sure, but it worked. And there seemed to be a larger crowd than the week before.

It probably wasn't hard for Armstrong to play along (and almost completely act as the frontman) to beloved tracks like "Can't Hardly Wait" and "Color Me Impressed." After all, Armstrong has been known to talk about how much The Replacements influenced his music. In an interview with Armstrong and Westerberg in a 2010 Spin story, Armstrong said:

My kid's 15 now; Replacements albums are the first things he reaches for. And my sister brought me to see you at the Fillmore, I think in 1987. You guys were wearing all plaid....
