Green Day took them back in 05 after being stiffed on royalty fees. The problem is it was recorded on an inferior media, most likely cassettes, which degrade after time. It's now been 20 years...they are most definitely not mixing quality. Distribution rights and Music rights are 2 completely different things. What reprise acquired was the distribution rights. SInce Reprise are now the ones distributing the albums, they get paid by the retailers for the albums and then they give lookout their cut for the music rights and guaranteeing Green Day their cut of the deal which was NOT happening through the prior engagement. And besides, if it was JUST the masters being unusable, Harmonix would have said so (like they did with the Beatles. They said the masters were flat out unusable, until Apple Corp. went back and did the expensive and time consuming process of digitally isolating each individual instrument, which is why it took 3 years for the Beatles deal to fall into place) instead of using the blanket statement of "we couldn't get access to the master recordings" beatles rock band was a flop compared to their other games because that was focused more for the hardcore beatles fan. *facepalm* You know what I'm not even gonna bother, maybe if ignore all the morons who think the Beatles was a flop compared to RB and RB2, they'll all just disappear
Hermione Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Love the Longview video. There's meant to be an arrow pointing up above the "Stupid" on Billie's shirt though. Seriously, they've copied every other exact detail of the shirt so how did they manage to miss the arrow?! And he used to wear trousers about 6 inches too short for him......not long perfectly fitting bootcut trousers I like the crazy faces they put in, they did a lot of Billie's mannerisms really well. They're not often enough or extreme enough though . And not nearly enough crazy faces/movements from Mike and Tre. Mike barely even moves. So yeah it's cool and it captures the band well, but kind of like a really calmed down version. Not that I'll be looking at anything but the fret board thing when I'm actually playing the game!

Is it like that in all of the Rock Band games or did they just decide to give Billie and Mike hands the size of a dinner plate for the hell of it? sorry, I just notice it SO MUCH in every single picture and video oh and for the rest I agree with Hermoine, they captured the band well. But I can't get over those damned hands! xD
XBlade1X Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I would be willing to financially support that with an increased cost in the game. If they left in "masturbation" I really doubt there will be much censored in this game except for the obvious four letter worlds, thank goodness.

Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Harmonix wouldnt have done this, its all about money in the gaming world, to make more games thats why they didnt release a special edition with instruments. beatles rock band was a flop compared to their other games because that was focused more for the hardcore beatles fan. this game is focused on the average fans, with the three most popular albums. trust me, i wanted all the albums too, but the costs of licensing fees and the cost of all the songs, art work and all that crap would have been substantial Yes, i realise this. But i don't think you understood that it was only me imagining a perfect game. Still, i think that if you are gonna make a game based on a bands career, you gotta do it right, and not just what seems enough to satisfy the average player.

No one can say anything until we know the game sells well, if not it will be regular Rock Band DLC. But if the guys at Harmonix wanted to make it happen they could. No one can really say anything about it yet. I couldn't care even if they said they aren't planning to make any, its never to late to start, and I can see it happening if there is the demand for it. It's starting to be a rare thing, to see games these days that don't get any DLC, Especially music games! its one of those things that are really big now, and I know for a fact its possible. I mean, really... the game hasn't even been released yet. No one can say "yes there will be" or "No there won't be". It is a possibility, and that's all anyone can really say at the moment.

So what's everyone think of the Basket Case trailer? I just saw it and am actually not as impressed. It didn't seem to have the same kind of energy as the Longview one...like it was hollowed out. It could just be the fact I'm drinking soda though and lots of it. If I could change one thing it would be the lack of facial expressions, though they are a bit better then most games out there.
