son
I think if the game does well enough, it will not have small DLC, but an Expansion pack or two as DLC, expansion pack one should contain the rest of insomniac and nimrod, as well as a new venue and outfits, and expansion pack two should have the rest of warning and of course shenanigans, maybe even an expansion pack 3 with Foxboro Hot Tubs and The Network, Remember when he said that those bands wont be in the game, but he would love to play their songs eventually? Derp that would never happen unless they were clear about it. the only hope is for generic DLC for rock band 1/2/3 in the future. i should know, im a doctor

They would be pricey too, But I'd buy them no matter what the cost, and I'm sure there are many others who would too, and then Harmonix would be making their money, and everyone is happy... Never say never

Never say never no, they wouldnt. if that was the case, GDRB would have been downloadable. they lost alot of money projected money off the beatles saga, if they wanted to, they would have done it now. i would only expect a 3 pack in the future if any more green day. you have to think in an unbiased and business-like way, its getting annoying seeing people making up stuff like ZOMG NETWORK FULL GAME POSSIBLE?? FOXBORO HOT TUBS HOT COFFEE MOD?

If you are thinking from a Business-like way, they cant see how well the game is going to sell before it starts selling, if it does well its pretty clear that people want more... They have the base game, all they would need to do is add content, I'm not saying make separate band games for The Network or Foxboro Hot Tubs, But if Green Day DLC did well, I'm just saying that it wouldn't be that hard to add them as more. I'm not trying to say it will happen and I'm not saying it wont, its just an Idea that's all, no need to be harsh about it.

sampy
Oh gosh people, stop being so negative, All he said was that there wont be any pre Dookie DLC, because of legal stuff and it would be difficult to make other dlc because of the fixed animations, it is possible, the game just needs to sell well. Dude, I didn't meant that on any negative way! =) I'm pretty excited about those rare stuff what they get from MTV, I mean like that soundcheck song from 90's and videoclips! Hopefully there's not any "oooh, I saw that on YouTube couple weeks ago"-stuff.

FOXBORO HOT TUBS HOT COFFEE MOD? I really HATE that people don't do research, otherwise they wouldn't still think they didn't like the way the Beatles sold. It's their biggest selling DLC OF ALL TIME (beating albums and packs that were out since 2007!!!) and the game out sold Guitar Hero 5 everywhere except Europe (and it wasn't even close to being practically 2 to 1 like like was in the States). The ONLY reason there isn't more DLC right now is because Harmonix was busy with Green Day and Rock Band 3. MORE IS COMING!!!!!! and the reason they CAN'T do DLC for this game is this: In this game we’re taking a different approach to performances: We’re building these crafted, linear sequences. One of the reasons we could do open-ended DLC for The Beatles is that it’s all tiny clips, and we could just reconfigure them for different songs as needed — and dreamscape backgrounds similarly had that. With this, we’re really creating sculpted experiences for every single song; there’s an animation that plays all the way through, pretty much. That’s something that’s not really practical to do open-ended. So we decided we were going to make DLC just about finishing 21st Century Breakdown, using the DLC that was already out. That created a great three-album game, and also let us give each of those [six DLC tracks] unique assets, more than we could easily pack into a DLC pack. Those songs have their own video-wall assets, their own [motion capture]. STOP JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS!!!!! /rant
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
^ thanks for that, it annoyed me too how people kept saying there'd only be no DLC for 1039 and Kerplunk. Anyway, let me get this straight, if you have a Wii, you can't play 21stCB in it's entirety, because you can't get the DLC songs on GDRB with a Wii (the Plus edition isn't for Wii), and you can't export GDRB to normal RB on a Wii. So you'll have the six DLC songs only on normal RB, and the rest of 21stCB only on GDRB. Is that right? (here I'm not including the possibility of exporting GDRB to RB3 on a Wii, since RB3 isn't out yet, or something). Sorry for the many acronyms in there xD and I can't stop slightly laughing at Mike having a permanent expression

This, sadly, all depends on Lookout! Records, since they hold the music rights to them, Reprise only has distribution rights. That doesn't mean it can't happen, but it's very unlikely since they kinda screwed Green Day out of a ton of money they deserved and pretty much want to go against everything they want at this point. The good news is: Nimrod, Warning, and Insomniac are totally possible for the main Rock Band series Anyway, let me get this straight, if you have a Wii, you can't play 21stCB in it's entirety, because you can't get the DLC songs on GDRB with a Wii (the Plus edition isn't for Wii), and you can't export GDRB to normal RB on a Wii. What you CAN do, is rent Rock Band 2 (or buy it, it has a pretty good setlist ), and get the 6 21st Century Breakdown songs through that

(and it'd be nice if it'd be possible to play 21stCB in one piece, instead of with key songs missing or playing 6 seperate songs) Or maybe I indeed will buy RB2. I will wait anyway till I find out which one I like better, Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

Yup, you need an SD card to download them to (you can get a kingston 1 GB at Big Lots, or some equivalent in your area, for less than $5) Sorry, I don't know how Rock Band works, haha. It's okay, you'd be surprised how many people don't know a lot of things about Rock Band example: The developer of Rock Band, Harmonix, are the ones who made Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero 2 (You know, the good ones ) This is in no way a shot at you, BTW, I'm just pointing out there are far worse things than being new to a game

Just a normal, not micro or something (asking that 'cause the only SD card I know we have for sure is a micro-SD, for a nintendo DS xD)? Oh well, I'll just ask my dad, he's better with things like that than I am. Tek
Anything is possible for DLC if the game sells a lot. It wouldn't be easy for HMX to do, but if there are huge sales numbers and people are wanting more. Then the upper mgmt will say, release DLC and make it work. porksoda
I am so pissed. They shafted us all with this game. They made Beatles Rock Band amazing, and they give us 2 albums, 3 venues, no DLC and a handful of other songs? What the fuck is that? "We can't do DLC because we have specific sequences for specific songs." BULLSHIT. I wouldn't care if the band just sat in chairs and played, as long as I got some DLC. God dammit Harmonix. porksoda
Harmonix are screwing us with the lack of DLC Exactly. One of the main reasons The Beatles Rock Band only had 45 tracks in the main game is because they had planned an albums worth of DLC to be available right after the game was released. If Harmonix was never planning any extra Green Day DLC, then we should have gotten more main game tracks. I'm as big of a Green Day fan as anyone here, and I was elated when I heard this game was being made, but with every detail that gets leaked, I'm liking this less and less. It's going to way less awesome then it could've been.
