Todd
Is anyone on here going to the event thing at 1-2-3-4 Go Records this Saturday morning? I'm thinking of going, but driving to Oakland is about an hour and a half away and I'd have to get up extremely early in order to get a spot in line. It might be worth it though... Hey, it's worth it. Get there early enough and you'll have a chance to win the test pressing, and even if you don't need it, you can sell it on here or ebay for lots of money! It'll pay for everything you buy at the record store plus more!
Hermione
Listened to this . It's so great to hear the songs all raw, they sound amazing and so different. I wouldn't say it's better than the trilogy by any means as most of my favourite songs aren't on it, it doesn't have the little journey/story that you get listening to the three albums, and despite sounding extremely cool the songs would benefit from some polishing if they were going to be a proper album even if they were still kept pretty raw. But that's the beauty of it, it's not supposed to be a proper album instead of the trilogy, it's an album of demos that compliments the trilogy and both can be enjoyed for what they are. There's no need for "they should've released this instead", they have released it and we have both! The only songs I actually like more in demo form are 99 Revolutions, Sex Drugs And Violence and Little Boy Named Train, they're probably the blandest songs on the albums but there's so much more going on in them here, I love all the extra guitar stuff. 99 Revolutions in particular is transformed by a rougher sound and more guitar work, my jaw dropped when I heard it and I have to agree with everything good that's been said about it here. Love everything on it though, Stay The Night, Baby Eyes and Ashley sound particularly dark and sexy, State Of Shock is really cool and more interesting than I expected, and I adore the acoustic Stay The Night. It seems so personal sung that way, almost as if he's just singing it to himself rather than for an audience, I don't know if I've ever heard a Green Day recording that sounded as close-up and intimate as that. Big fan. And the bits of them talking excitedly at the end of songs are so cute , really shows how much they enjoyed making them and really makes the whole thing feel like a look behind the scenes. So yeah, this album is awesome. The best thing about these demo's are the fact that Billie finally sings 'shut your mouth cause you're talking too much and I don't give a FUCK anyway' instead of 'DAMN'. I always sing it the way he sings it in the demos He already does! He sings damn the first time and then fuck the second time. I think the fuck has an even bigger impact that way, because after hearing damn you're just expecting damn again but BAM he says FUCK instead . A cool improvement I'd say. Hermione
Listening to Missing You right now. I like how in this version he makes it really obvious that "It gets so hard when I'm missing you" is a double entendre. On Tre he just goes "It gets so hard when I'm missing you", but here he goes "It gets so...hard when I'm missing you" Also what is that silly noise in Angel Blue after he sings "angel blue" in the chorus? It's amusing.
Jon Benjamin
I really think Mike sings every other line in Carpe Diem's chorus starting with "Carpe Diem a battle cry" you have to listen closely but thoughts?

I don't think anyone is really saying they should have released the Trilogy is Demolicious demo form, just that the production was poorly done. Alan86
Nobody has metioned Jason White vocals. It is likely that most of these were recorded with all the band playing at the same time so Jason is likely to have backing vocals in there too right?? I must admit I also only thought of mike too but Jason must have been singing backing too.

W Axl Rose
I want this as much as anybody but I don't wanna read all 83 pages. Can someone tell me if there are plans to release this other than the 3,000 copies on Saturday? Are there 1,500 tapes and 1,500 CD's? How much should these be at the stores like $20 each? Also, there is no way of finding out if participating stores will carry this release? It sucks because I have a feeling that asshole e-bayers will buy them and rip off fans for way more than what they are worth. Thanks guys!

W Axl Rose
it leaked, just download it tbh I read that on here but I buy every Green Day release. IDK,maybe it's because I'm old but I like having them in my collection. I think an item that is actually limited to 3,000 pieces is a cool idea. I also have to think that this will be considered something for the die-hard fans and in time they'll release it for everyone to buy. If I do get an extra one I'd send it to someone on here for what I paid for it and shipping. That's it because I know chances are they won't be a cock and sell it on E-bay. desertrose
Green Day Announce ‘Demolicious’ & Stream “State Of Shock” April 14th, 2014 Kriston McConnell There are tons of great releases that will be hitting local record store shelves this coming Saturday, April 19. That day is the date for this year’s Record Store Day, and thousands of people across the country are drafting lengthy lists of their “must have” choices this year. One group that will be releasing some new music is the one and only Green Day. They have announced that they have an 18-track album titled Demolicious that will be available, and as the name suggests, it features previously unreleased demo tracks. One of those songs is titled “State Of Shock,” and it’s available to stream below. I’m not sure how old this demo is, but it sounds very old school. Even if you were not a fan of their recent trilogy, there’s a chance you will be into the demos. It would be nice to hear what another song or two sounds like before RSD, but I’m sure any hardcore fan of Green Day will have no problem dropping some cash on the record either way. http://www.underthegunreview.net/2014/04/14/green-day-announce-demolicious-stream-state-of-shock/
Hermione
It's Mike echoing "Blue" which I think is really awesome, too bad it didn't make the album version Ahh now you say it I can hear it. Sounds funny to me, because it's quiet it reminds me of "Call me what you will", "What you will!" . Although it probably sounds more odd because I'm used to the song without it. Wouldn't object to it being in the album version, jazzes up the song a bit. I have to add that I actually find it funny whenever a note is sung differently in a Green Day song, the surprise of it tickles me lol. Some fine examples of that on here. The cool little background noises/additions in the demos is what made them so fun and energetic. Gave run-of-the-mill tracks some character and life. MaraGreenDay
Well, i already listen to it and i really like it. I haven't listen to Green Day since a few months ago, so after listen to Demolicious i just realized how much i miss them, especially the trilogy, the demos sound really good, and yes i think the most attractive thing are the change of a few lyrics or the different noises in the background, but i really don't get why some people is saying that this is better than the trilogy, to me it's really not, but i guees it just depents of every person . Anyway, i really enjoyed the album, i wish i could buy it, but i don't if this will be available in México :/
