It kinda upsets me how green day didn't add all the little things they have in the demo versions into the actual version. The demos makes the studio version sound so plain. I love all the random guitar slides you hear, and how you will hear one guitar just strum the chord and them continue playing, and all the little quick notes that play randomly. It makes me wonder why did green day go with what you hear on the normal version?

My favourites (and by favourites I mean I prefer them 100% to the album versions) are Carpe Diem, Stray Heart and Little Boy Named Train, Let Yourself Go, Ashley (and probably others I'm still listening for the 2nd time at the moment). But I mostly like all the little changes in the songs, how it sounds like Kerplunk and how at the end of the tracks you can hear them talking :D

It's so nice that we got to hear this!

State of Shock is really cool as well!

Has anyone figured out the breakdown of Let Yourself Go?

What I have so far:

I wanna live with normal people

Wanna breath with normal people

______ with normal people

??????????

Also, what about the bridge in Oh Love? Any one have a clue?

Waitttt no one ever said Billie would be singing on the acoustic version of Stay The Night. What if this is a completely different person? CONSPIRACIES CONSPIRACIES

Sounds like Billie to me, just a Billie putting less effort into singing than he usually does, as in it's almost like he's talking... I really like the "feel" of it. Reminded me of those instagram videos he posted a while a go.

I'm liking this a lot more than the trilogy. I agree they should have released this without a few songs (Fell For You, Makeout Party, Sex Drugs and Violence) and adding some others (X Kid, Dirty Rotten Bastards, Lazy Bones and Brutal Love).

Is it me or Mike does the background vocals on this? Because I think so, and they sound a lot better.

So far the only I think I prefer on the trilogy version is the Stay The Night solo. That piece of music is just brilliant.

State of Shock is a good song, nothing especial ,though.

X-Kid, DRB, Lazy Bones and Brutal Love were all as good as they could possibly get on the albums anyway though. The songs included on Demolicious are the ones that are actually better than the album versions.

Mike does all the backing vocals on this because they were all recorded live in the studio rather than dubbed. It's a massive improvement given that Mike's backing vocals are one of the best things about the band.

Go to work with normal people??? After that I'm completely lost... Billie needs to learn to enunciate :P

I think in the bridge of Oh Love he didn't have any lyrics yet, so he kept saying the same thing.

I'm glad there isn't an X-kid demo, I think that's one of the few that sounds perfect as it is

I agree that the official versions of those songs can't get any better, but I was referring to the track list.

And yes, Mike's vocals are the best (especially his part in SD&V is a lot better)

I wonder what green day's relationship is like with rob cavallo. I can't imagine it is all that bad but this is the second time they've had somewhat of a resentment in the aftermath of a production process. Whether it be pretty good or mediocre results. Take it as you will. Green Day might have gone along with him every step of the way and didn't question it until they found out they weren't going to be massively popular again. I mean to me green day was trying to reinvent themselves again with trilogy instead of just being themselves. Trying to be hip or cool with somewhat of a modernized and refined older sound was probably never a great idea. Now not ever song from the trilogy expresses that notion, but to me the newest song state of shock refocuses them to just being a carefree but important, get together in the garage band again. State of shock is definitely b-sidey but a lot of times their b-sides cut through the red tape of trying to live up to what they've accomplished in the past or bettering that by just being themselves and having fun. I really think green day and/or cavallo really missed that opportunity by packaging/producing the trilogy the way they did.

I seriously think Green Day should record their next album live in the studio by themselves with Chris Dugan mixing. That's what I was really hoping for with Uno/Dos/Tre. Rob tried too hard to try something new with the band while keeping the vocal effects from 21st Century Breakdown. Part of me thinks maybe that's why the band doesn't seem to be too proud of the trilogy, maybe it didn't turn out how they had envisioned it and find themselves disappointed with the final product. Even when watching Cuatro you can see Rob's lack of enthusiasm, he just seems kind of there.

And by the way, I love their comments like 'yeah' or 'awesome' at the end of the songs

So now it's clear that what went wrong with the trilogy is.

- The guitar not being heavy enough(SOME songs though the guitar tone is perfect like x kid and etc)

-They polished it like you wouldn't believe

-They took out all the little things that they had in the demos

- And mike isn't doing backing vocals on anything except for maybe 2 songs.

I really like the acoustic version of Stay The Night, kind of reminds me of Paul Westerberg.

I do hope that's a reference to Common People by Pulp.

Also, the demo of Baby Eyes kicks the shit out of the one on Dos, and that was my favorite song from the trilogy. It fucking rocks.

Little Boy Named Train blew me away. The guitars are sooo good

And also those uuuhhhhh uhhhhhhs I think Little Boy Named Train is my favourite of all. I'm a bit indifferent to the song in the album but this demo version is so much more exciting, I just really love it!

All those noises Billie makes while singing Missing You. Perfect.

It's crazy hearing people yap about the guitar tone. I swear it was only like ceadoggy dog and a FEW others complaining about that from the beginning.

Man, I hate to say it but Rob Cavallo really fucked this shit up. These songs have so much more energy and attack than the finished product. The lack of vocal filter really helps too, I actually feel like Im listening to Green Day.

i felt it when uno was released
