Green Day to release LP titled "Demolicious" to support Record Store Day

If someone doesn't currently know about this album, then they probably aren't fan enough to want it :P

No, but someone could walk in on RSD and see "Oh, Green Day! I kinda like them, I guess I'll get this". It's not like you have to be a super fan to be able to buy the album (even though that's how it should be)

True but then again I know of fans who don't go online everyday to see new news or have smart phones (for Instagram/Twitter) that would enjoy hearing about this album. Even though they heard about it from me haha

Again labels don't really promote RSD releases (as far as we know this is just a RSD release until word comes other wise)

It's an album full of demos from some of their worst-selling albums. I love Rancid, but I wouldn't buy an album full of demos from their 2000 self titled LP. I'm not even buying the Ramones release this year either.

That's what I was thinking haha. In all likelihood the surprise show would take place at either 1-2-3-4 Go! or at the Amoeba in San Francisco. Amoeba would be perfect because it has a band stage. :)

1-2-3-4 GO! has a stage too, or at least it did in Cuatro.

billie and joey built one of the stages for a secret show, I believe it was that one. So it might have been a temporary installment

Which record store are you looking to go to? I know Reckless Records said they will be selling it.

Here is a link: http://www.reckless.com/wordpress/?p=4685

Hey! I'm going to be in Chicago on Record Store Day and planned on stopping at Reckless to get me a copy of Demolicious and a few other RSD items. I hope I'll see you there!

But only State Of Shock is ACTUALLY from Demolicious;

If they're playing other songs I don't think they'll play them in demo form

I'm glad you edited your post to say they the opposite of what you said originally.

Hope the vinyl comes with an mp3 download. Also, I am very excited to have Stray Heart on vinyl seeing as it got bumped off of Dos and never ended up on Tre...

There are so many record stores in my area and most of them are participating. So for sure I'll be hitting up, 1 2 3 4 Go!, Amoeba Berkeley and Amoeba SF. :)

I'm hoping for the mp3 download as well. It would be logical since a lot of people would be buying the vinyl for collection purposes and not to listen to it regularly.

Ummm. Lakeview? Lol. The one closer to Grant Park. Whicever one that is!

There's also one a few blocks away from The Vic, which is where I'll be all day, that I might check out as well.

I am not opposed to picking up the CD as well, but I am already going to be spending my money on the vinyl as well as the RSD releases from Bastille, Broken Bells, Jake Bugg, Chvrches, Coldplay, Foals, and the R.E.M. one. Can't wait any longer!

Geez, had a dream last night that I went to the Jazz Mart in downtown Chicago to get this and they just laughed at me. As in, they would only get the "really cool" music. :(

That (fake) version of State of Shock kind of reminds me of Maria.
