I'm a bit worried because I called my record store and they refused to tell me any titles they're getting in. They also told me that typically RSD is a very busy day for them and that they open quite early.

I love Green Day, but do I love Green Day enough to wake up early on a Saturday and go shiver in front of a record store in the hopes of maybe landing Demolicious?

Personally I'd go for it if I could..

Ah, except if t's saturday. :P

My favorite record store confirmed that they will be holding copies of the CD, vinyl and cassette for me. It always pays to be good to your local independent record store, especially during times like this.

They aren't supposed to hold stuff...

Probably not many people in their Wisconsin town are requesting it so they're probably happy someone wants them all. :)

Those of us who have to wait on line to (hopefully) get our copy.

Make friends with your record store employees

Its really not as big of a deal as everyone makes it out to be. Usually they press a ton of these kinds of things, and especially being Warner Bros. they will probably do just that. There are still copies of last years Record Store Day exclusives at the store that nobody has bought yet. Id say unless your nearest record store are a bunch of dicks (or there are several Green Day fanatics in your area), the chances of you not getting a copy are pretty slim.

If I can't get mine online off amazon, I'll use google to find a record store near me and maybe I'll work up the social confidence needed to go.

What people dont understand is Record Store Day isn't for people to just get something they want, its whole purpose is to offer exciting things to people to get them to spend money and support local record stores to keep them in business. Musicians go out of there way to make these releases possible because without the record stores that supply and promote their music, they wouldn't be able to make a living doing what they do. Owners and employees of these stores benefit as well because it lets them keep their jobs.

I understand that, I'd still rather buy it online

I dont know if I'm alone, but to me there's something special about going to the record store and being part of the celebration. Not only are you doing your part to support a great cause, but its like Christmas looking through the records and finding what you're looking for and actually holding the physical thing in your hand. It's a beautiful thing.

I also like to participate, but I fear that I won't get anything on RSD, because I live in Austria. The triple pack (CD, Vinyl, MC) would be amazing; already asked a local record store and they will contact me when they get the list.

I was told the 20th is when the official list of what the stores will be getting is coming out. Is that true?

That's what I was told too, but apparently some stores/people got it earlier.
