Would be awesome if this sounds like the "Radio Daze" bootleg or the BBc sessions back in the 90's, that is a pure sound

Will it be difficult to get it, i mean like will it be very limited? Or will it be released like a normal cd?? :-)

So basciallly I saw the picture that Mike posted on IG, and he kinda says that thr sound of the songs will be "low" as he wrote "ThisIsHowUnoDOsAndTrewouldHaveSoundedifWeWereStillOnLookoutRecords"

39/Smooth was a low-budget album; with the time constraints, most or all of the songs had to be recorded "live", in one take.

Demoing songs is much the same way, in that you rehearse for hours and hours until it's perfect, and then you record it as a band. Take the spirit of those Lookout!-era recordings, add 25 years of practice and growth as a band, upgraded equipment, and you have a good idea of what these tracks will sound like.

Or you could just listen to the 21st Century Breakdown, which was more than likely done at Jingletown.

I asked a local record store, which participates on Record Store Day every year, and they told me that Europe gets exclusive stuff (not sure if she meant 'parts of American records' or 'European exclusive stuff'). They will get a list on the 20th (of March?) where they can pick which records they order, they will see if Green Day is on the list and - after I asked - she will order everything there is by Green Day (even CDs and cassettes) :)

So, just ask your local record store.

To be fair

30 is a fair price of a double lp set

God...dammit! Forgot it was a double LP! Well, guess I'll either be getting the red, or no vinyl at all. Definitely getting the CD and tape, though.

This reminds me of something from several months ago - just before Less Than Jake released their most recent album, they put out "My Money is On the Long Shot" on YouTube, and some people began accusing Roger of using Autotune or whatever. Roger had to then explain that, no, what people were hearing was just the results of practice, practice, practice and, if need be, piecing together multiple takes to get the best sound (something which, I believe, was done with "Working Class Hero" [Lennon's original, not Green Day's] and The Door's "The End").

Oh definitely! In the days before digital recording, that was how they got the best out of the musicians- cutting and splicing together the best takes. It no doubt took a lot of patience and a steady hand. I was reading about how they did it with Appetite for Destruction not too long ago. Must have been the most tedious part of the job for producers and engineers.

I still wish we had the demo for kill the dj... The snippet we heard on cuatro was sick as hell

I can't remember hearing that, is it on the extras of Cuatro?

I always felt that nobody really liked Fell For You, but I'm glad the band liked it enough to include it, because it's one of my faves <3

I adore it!

The artwork is SO awesome!

If this includes the demo for Kill the DJ I'll die of a fangasm. That sounded so amazing! I'm 100% sure the trilogy will get much more love after this because those raw demos are going to be awesome!

Looking forward to April 19th!

To be honest, I'm really excited to hear every song that's in there! Even the ones that I didn't like so much in the album, I think they are going to sound AMAZING in the demos. I can't wait for April!

Ok, I probably heard it but don't remember it then, I only watched the DVD version once via streaming, and probably didn't pay as much attention to the music as I should have... Was it much different from the album version?

I'm going to guess that in preparation for the release, "State of Shock" will be streamed online by the band and/or Warner. I know it goes against the exclusivity of Record Store Day, but it's a big band with an unreleased song we're talking about.

Just noticed that in the otherwise flawless artwork Billie's silhouette is way too tall and long legged

Lmao

Trilogy is very far from overproduced... AI is 100000x more overproduced than Trilogy...

The instruments are perfect IMO, it's just the vocal filters ruin them.

Would be awesome if this sounds like the "Radio Daze" bootleg or the BBc sessions back in the 90's, that is a pure sound

you know there's an actual cd release of "Radio Daze" called "On the radio"

Yeah Billie uses vocal filters and yeah Rob should have turned down the effect value on those when using the clean tones

The effect value it set at is fine for records like AI and 21st but when recording with clean tones for the trilogy they should have lowered it

What actually are vocal filters? Is that like delay and reverb or mor like pitch correction etc?

When I heard it was going to be trilogy songs not a career retrospective I was disappointed and then I thought "what if they're doing like a best of thing with the three albums and releasing the best songs on the one album, but putting a spin on it by releasing the rougher less polished versions", because 18 songs, give or take 3 or 4 on either side, sounds about right for the number of worthwhile songs the three records ended up producing. But no best of the trilogy would be complete without Brutal Love so it's not going to be that either. Which means I guess we have to take it for what it is, a throwaway bunch of demos. Still, it's nice they're supporting Record Store Day with something.
