State of Shock is really growing on me, even though it's a short song with some repetitive parts, I'd like it way more than Make-out Party or Lady Cobra on the trilogy, 2 songs I never liked nor will like ever.

I feel that despite the trilogy's production being a little odd, the music was still great so the albums were still great. Demolicious fixes some of the problems with the trilogy's production, but it doesn't fix the main problem. They were going for a different sound on the trilogy. For 20 years they were perfecting their signature sound and dropping that in the trilogy seemed jarring to a lot of fans. I love the 21CB Tour style sound, but I can't blame Cavallo for the trilogy's production. The band wanted to try something new, and that's awesome. I don't see Demolicious as a "fix" for the trilogy, but I see it as a raw version of the trilogy.

Nothing is safe.

Yeah like your mom. Not safe from my insatiable sex drive, that is.

In my opinion, Green Day should have released the trilogy in the same way they released Demolicious. It was the over-promotion of the trilogy that got people's expectations in the air and disappointed many. Many thought that the Trilogy didn't come close to any of Green Day's previous albums quality-wise. Perhaps if they released the songs as demos from the start it would have been better received by the fans. The comparison to AC/DC and the Beatles, the sneak-peaks, rumors, the hype and all the promos for the Trilogy made the fans underwhelmed upon hearing the albums. People were expecting a revolution, a new Green Day era... and people were slightly misled.

I'm not saying that the songs off Uno, Dos, and Tre are just 'demo-worthy'. I just think Green Day didn't need to compare themselves to anyone at all if they were going back to their 'old sound' (though they did try a little too much to sound like something they weren't).

Really, the "production" problem people seem to have with the trilogy is that the guitars are a bit too low. In the Cuatro DVD, Cavello said that this was an intentional decision and that the guys wanted to open the sound up so that the bass and drums can breath. Maybe the guitar sound doesn't bother me much because I'm a drummer. The drums on Demolicious, however, sound too raw (sounds like Tre may be using Hot Rod "bundle" style sticks on some songs). Since these are demos though, it doesn't really bother me...in fact I kind of enjoy that it adds a different dimension to these songs we already know so well.

The only thing that slightly bothered me about the trilogy was that several songs sound like songs Billie's written in the past (for example, Amy and Walking Alone). But I look at the Trilogy as the guys getting together, writing a bunch of energetic kick-ass songs, recording them, and giving almost all of them to the fans. I thought it was a avery fun and exciting time for Green Day fans!

Just got this email from Bull Moose:

"Hello and thank you for placing an order on www.bullmoose.com. If you are one of our new customers, welcome! If you have ordered before, it’s nice to see you again.

Due to a huge number of orders this week, customer service is a little backed up. The quickest way to check on the status of an order is to log on to your account. Go to My Account then expand the Order History section by clicking on the little white + on the right side of the screen. If your status says “packaged,” it has been packed up and may even be in the mail. We will put a tracking button there when the tracking information is live. Sometimes this takes a day or two. Please note that your order may be shipped in several packages.

Order Received means that we haven’t packaged your order. A bunch of us worked all night last night to keep up with all the orders. We still have a bunch to go, so don’t worry yet! However, if you ordered one of the limited edition Record Store Day items, we might run out before we get to your order. We are going through all the orders right now and will contact you if we won’t be able to ship your order."

Looks like my hunch was right - they oversold. If you go to bullmoose.com/customer/purchases, you can check the status of your orders. If the item says "Item Packaged," then you're safe.
