I went to three different stores, and none of them had the CD. They all had several vinyl copies. I don't suppose anyone has an extra CD they'd like to sell to me? :D

I went to two stores. One had all 3 formats and sold out very early, before I get there. The other only had vinyl, and only ONE copy when I got there. I purchased it, Red vinyl, for $30.50. Fantastic! I'm really disappointed I didn't get the CD so I could play it anywhere anytime.

Complete opposite over here. No Vinyl or Cassette, a lot of CD's though haha.

People that enjoy the music do buy the records. It just goes through a middle man. Or should I say a second middle man, since your record store sure as hell falls into the category of "profit-seekers".

Someone could wait outside of a store for hours and not be able to get a record because the guy in front of them bought every copy and sold them on eBay. That's totally unfair.

The point of RSD is to support record stores, of course they should make a profit. It's not to support web resellers. And why do you keep saying my record store, as if I own the place?

Just finishing up Stay the Night and about to start Nuclear Family. I gotta say, it's gonna be weird listening to the final releases after this. Even though these are demos, they sound a lot better than the finals.

I could be wrong, but it seems that nearly every store has a "Limit one copy of each title to a customer". All of mine did.

EDIT: On that note, it's also a massive pain in the ass to go to these stores early enough to get records like Demolicious and then to hassle with flipping it and shipping? I can't hate on anyone for making a quick buck when there are people who are willing to pay for it. It's not food or drink, it's not life essential. It's a Green Day record, a compilation demo at that. No one NEEDS it, and if the price is too high then they won't get it. You can listen to it online all over already, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a release at a later time as well.

I'm not about to hate on scalpers for being smart businessmen.

Someone could live in a country with no scene for that type of music or just have a record store that doesn't participate. Neither of our example situations are more important than the other.

The record stores are supported! And the records get spread out further than they would have.

IDK, that's just the way that thing is said lol. Could just be the way my dialect does it.

I was under the impression that's just a rule some individual stores impose. Also Tman's mom's obviously got other plans in that regard, so y'know.

Hey, I managed. :P

Yeah, I guess it benefits people in that case.

I got mine today on the only format that matters.

Is that a black case cassette?

I got the last copy left at my record store. Didn't even see the spot for the vinyl or cassette. Got the CD and got the hell out of there.

All the record stores in town were sold out (in their defense, I should've gotten up earlier), so I grabbed a copy of the red vinyl on eBay for $40, which is probably close to the best price I can see anyone getting for this vinyl now. Most are selling for $60 and up, so I'm pretty happy

Now at the end of the album. Stay The Night acoustic is just beautiful. Love it so much more than the original.

Wow you guys, this is the version that should have been released. This is the album that should have been. The Trilogy is so squeaky clean compared to this. Wow!!
