Spike
The record store in Scarborough held something for me last year but I asked waaaaaay in advance and knew a guy who knew a guy. I know it was against the rules but it's not like there were any other music fans in the area
desertrose
Holding for me if not sold by 5PM. My local store said there has not been much buzz about this locally here in my town. If they have it still at 5 they will hold it, which seems probable they said as they got quite a few in of each. Record Store Day co-founder Michael Kurtz talks about the history of the holiday, what albums will be released, and the best time to line up outside the record store. http://consequenceofsound.net/video/rock-it-out-blog-how-to-succeed-at-record-store-day/
Certified Nimrod
I know it was against the rules but it's not like there were any other music fans in the area Why'd you have them hold it if there wouldn't even be competition for what you wanted? WhiteTim
White Tim - are you in LA or Houston? I am surprised someone agreed to hold it for you. Thats against RSD rules and they can get fired. I'm currently in Houston haven't been back in LA in a while need to And no stores is holding the cd for me I'm getting the cd thru someone at the label.. So no one is violating RSD rules

BCap
Unfortunately, something has come up, and I will be unable to get a copy tomorrow. I was hoping to pick up a CD and (especially) a tape, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to (since I won't get to a record store until next Friday at the earliest). If anyone has an extra copy on CD and/or cassette, I'd be glad to reimburse you for the price that you paid, plus sales tax and shipping costs. Also, since I know other people won't be able to get out tomorrow, don't live in countries where the album is being made available, or are simply unable to snag a copy tomorrow, I will try (if possible) to pick up any leftover copies that I can find and get them out to you guys (don't worry, I won't fuck you over on the price - I won't charge more than I paid [if it's more than the MSRP, which is what virtually all stores are selling it for, I won't charge more than that]). Basically, just the cost of the album, plus shipping costs (you pay for whatever type of shipping you want, and I will refund any difference in the price - I'll provide tracking at no charge, and drop the sales tax). I can't guarantee that I can do this, but if I can, I will. Just inbox me about either thing - I could use a hand, and I'm willing to lend one if I can. In any case, I just want y'all to know that this is one of the only forums I've been on that I've really felt completely at home - I want to thank everyone here for that. I think Billie Joe said it best once (BIAB, was it?) - "You guys fucking ROCK!"
basKT_case90
Is there nowhere in Victoria, Australia to get the cassette copy? I went to like 5 different record stores. No luck However, I did buy 2 vinyl copies and an extra CD!!!!! (Bloody expensive though. $50 for one vinyl!) I'm willing to negotiate with anyone who wants to sell/trade their cassette copy

According to our postal service website, a rough calculation comes to around $20. That would be awesome if you got hold of a cassette! For the time being however, hopefully we can both find more local opportunities to keep the costs down, but that doesn't mean I'm not interested

I should of brought more to sell to some of you guys who cannot get it but I didn't think sorry. Also windows media player currently has no data on the album. http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/music/alternative/demolicious/701800 http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/music/alternative/demolicious-vinyl/701805 Also its made and distributed by Warner Australia

Any idea how they got their hands on those copies? I can only think its because there are hardly any record stores in the country so they decided to let everyone get it but restricted stock. Also JB are selling it online as well (vinyl included), but subject to supplier availability.

I thought $50 at the local record store was expensive!

Neon Light
I got the CD after calling every store listed in my area. The guy had one copy left and after a little persuasion agreed to hold it for half an hour. Is it weird that I have no real interest in vinyl? I have the 21st Century Breakdown one but I don't really do anything with it.
