Sorry, I really don't get the hate for it. What is so bad about it?

It just drones along. It just feels like the song wants to speed up.

I haven't listened to that song since I first listened to 39/Smooth. Just put it on now and Jesus fuck that's awful. You're right, it sounds like someone took the actual recording and slowed it down in Audacity or some such shit.

Funny, all your feelings on Rest are the same as my opinion on the studio version of Knowledge. Ugh.

I like the trilogy, almost all the songs are just amazing to me and just like a few are just decent... Crucify me.

Yeah Rest has a proper emotional/poignant atmosphere to it (despite any cheesiness), I suppose you only really get the effect of that when listening to it rather than just thinking of the song. I'd say the same for No One Knows as well.

The original Knowledge is terrible imo.

What's "Rest"? Why haven't I heard of it yet?

It's on 39/Smooth, and because you're a terrible fan :P

Original original or Green Day's original?

The Operation Ivy version.

Even Blink have been more edgy and creative than Green Day for their last two albums.

Oh come on. For real? Neighborhood was garbage. It makes the trilogy sound almost good.

You're weird :P Anyway, my point wasn't whether they're likeable, it was more to do with putting some effort into crafting them!

The Operation Ivy version.

Questionable. I do much prefer Green Day's live version, though. I'll never know why they didn't do it like that in the studio, because what they did was ridiculous.

What do you like better about the live version?

Well it's faster, that's the main difference, right? But not too fast, as I always thought the Operation Ivy version was. There's more of a groove to it.

I quite like the lazy amble of the studio version, though I do love the live tempo.

Garbage album but more complex than what Green Day rights.

I used to think their cover of Knowledge was the shit, until I heard Operation Ivy's original version. I still like it though, what with the tongue-clicking and everything.
