We live in troubled times? Come on. That's nothing new. And the whole song just feels off, just like you said. Probably my least favourite song on the album. You could say Say Goodbye lyrics are predictable as well but it was a stand out song when I heard the leak.

It's definitely my favorite Green Day epic since "Jesus of Suburbia"/'Homecoming". Unpopular opinion: "Forever Now" is decent, but I don't see why it should be more than a one tour song. It's nowhere near as good as "Dirty Rotten Bastards" which was barely even played, yet alone a whole tour. Don't get me wrong I think there are classics that should be replayed on future tours from Revolution Radio, I just don't think that "Forever Now" is one of them. "Troubled Times" wasn't even played enough on this tour. I would vote that as a classic for future tours. A tale of two cities. FN I disagree with you on that's it's not one of their best songs of their career's but I agree on TT. I could not believe they didn't play it. I think it has to do with Billie not wanting to turn the tour into a boo-hoo fest and while I do love the song, it has serious negative undertones that he was trying to avoid. But I agree. TT and Outlaws are fantastic and should have got some play at least but there was one show. Maybe another point in their careers. Would have loved to hear Bastards to whoever was talking about that but I dunno about a closer. Good Riddance has become my "get to wherever I'm going" song.

I have no desire to see "21 Guns" acoustic done by Billie as I saw it electric in 2009 and I think it's better that way. Although I wouldn't mind seeing "Wake Me Up When September Ends" how they did it on the 2010 tour (which no shows came near me except a festival) and on Awesome As Fuck, but just Billie doing it by himself doesn't really appeal to me. I would agree. One of the best moments this tour for me was being 15 feet away from Billie with that tiny crowd when he closed with Ordinary World. It was the first time I saw men crying at a Green Day appearance. I saw it again after that and it was not the same. Sometimes you just get a different version of the song. Literally had me in a trance. 1

I was lucky to see it 3 times. I guess that he played it enough times during the year of the tour so that the feelings could vary from one time to another. At Hyde Park, last concert I've been to, he played both OW and 21 Guns and it was a so pleasant surprise to hear that last one. But I was kinda sad he stopped with Ordinary World quickly after that. Glad he played it again at the Fallon show. 37 minutes ago, LaughingClock said: Good Riddance has become my "get to wherever I'm going" song. -Billiejoezee-
the change they had made years ago of not closing with good riddance anymore wasn't the only one that bugged the crap out of me. I'm still pretty upset Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio? Isn't used anymore.
pacejunkie punk
I just think it’s funny how they can’t win either way — either people get upset with the things they never change (KFAD again?) or they complain about the things they do (Why did they drop that song?)

Glad he played it again at the Fallon show. Sorry, what does that mean? I saw it first at the iHeart thing at Burbank Studios. That thing they recorded and released on TV. If I'm not mistaken (and I might be), it was the first time he played it for a crowd live. It was like 100 people tops. It was fucking amazing and I knew immediately it meant something more to Billie than just the movie. What the it has become "my get to wherever I'm going" song means I don't care if I ever see it live again (well that's not true, I'd rather be watching Billie do anything than just typing) but between dealing with 10s of thousands of people vs. hearing Good Riddance, the crowd has now won that battle after hearing that song literally 100s of times. So in essence, if I'm going to the stage, my car, or to meet someone, it's on that song that I start my trek. You can avoid an hour of traffic for example if you are leaving as soon as the concert ends by doing that however, I implore you all to meet up and have fun after the show. Continue the party at the car for a little. Smoke a J if that's your thing or just hang out and live while you're young. For example, at Rose Bowl, I LEFT EARLY which is the first time I have ever done that (let alone sit in seats) because I was wth my 5yo daughter who can't stop talking about it. She had to make a collage (her first homework ever as she's in kindergarten and I pretty much had to stop her from making it all about that show). I have a way of making everything complicated when it's simple. The answer to your last question was that means I don't care about watching that song more than I do about moving life forward without dealing with the crowds. TBH, there are very few artists that i will see live as it feels like work sometimes. Bands like Green Day, Paul McCartney, 21Pilots put on a decent show, a lot of EDM acts including Empire of the Sun, Rudimental, Roni Size, LTJ Bukem, Rabbit in the Moon, Rancid, Trent/NIN, and a few others are the only bands I will even go out of my way to take the time to see. Good Riddance has turned into a song that fall into NOT one of those bands. Over-explanation done. 1 hour ago, -Billiejoezee- said: That's the Green Day fandom for ya At the moment. When you lived as long as I have (I'm pretty old at 42 I think, I swear I never remember) is a lot of time to watch a bands that you've been watching since you were a kid and the TYPE of fans seem to change quite often. Right now I think there is a good fan base that is kind, loves the band and is done caring about the labels of the music and the band. Of course they have a lot to do with that but I can't tell you how annoying it's been to hear about their selling out for what feels like millennia. I don't care if they are punk, or if they came out with an all power ballads album. I would listen to it all and it would probably be all good. I can't think of a single Green Day song off hand that I hate. Literally can't think of one. I am sure there is one but there aren't many bands I can say that about. Plus, as a straight man (and I'm very straight, it's not a choice, I couldn't have sex with a man if you offered me a billion dollars (and believe me I'd try)) but I have a total man crush on Billie. Always have. I think he's the coolest mother fucker alive. Too cool for school and the fans still appreciate it after all these years! So yeah, that's Green day fandom for ya. The iHeart was also semi-private you could say too but it was played many times before either of these in reality for several people. Good call though.

Judging by all the perfectly straight guys I’ve seen jump on stage and kiss Billie on the lips, you are far from alone. He has that effect on people, it’s his charisma and openness.

Popular Post letsdanceon
My 3-year-old likes to get a rise out of me by telling me, "Billie Joe MY boyfriend!" when she knows that clearly he is mine. She has a crush on Egon from the Real Ghostbusters cartoon, so she obviously can't have both. Nevermind me being married to her dad, that's a minor technicality.... 3 1
