The Grohl
Whatsername is definitely an ace song and I like it a lot. Is it my favorite? Not by a longshot. I really like the song, but I don't seem to have the same love for it like others. Same thing goes for "Scattered." I like it, but not one of my go to GD songs. CreepyRebel
I think Green Day's Dos record is very under appreciated. I'll admit that it's not my favorite like the Uno and Tre, but I do know the fact that many people don't like it as much.

I just love its simplicity, how it builds to the multi-layer vocals at the end and then returns to the simplicity to close the album. It's wonderfully reflective, tuneful and simply touching. I get your reasons for why you don't like it, I just have to disagree with you on the final verdict 35 minutes ago, Hermione said: Agreed! Brutal Love > almost all other Green Day songs in fact since it's at least one of my top 5 Now this is something I can agree with! Brutal Love is probably my family's favourite Green Day song (as in, the one we can all agree that we love and that never gets skipped when it comes on in the car). Performing it live with my dad last year only served to cement our love for it.
Billie Hoe
I used to dislike Whatsername and skip it when it came up, but I learned to appreciate and love it over the years Especially after hearing the musical version

I think Billie's performance of that song was just so beautiful and perfect that no one else can do the song justice. The song in the play was just a real let down for me.

Even after hearing the "BUT IN THE DARKEST NIGHT" part? Whatsername is one of my faves from the musical because of this part. It's just epic. But of course the album version is glorious as well. I wouldn't say that the musical version is better than it by any means
Popular Post Hermione
I can't stand any of the musical songs. I can't even get through the album because it makes me cringe so much (especially when it's the guys singing) . Just not a fan of that style of singing/performance at all.

This is the reason it took me 6 years to give it a listen I feared that I wouldn't like it because some musical ensemble butchered my favorite albums, but I'm happy I did because unexpectedly, I really love it Apart from a few songs, I can't stand Extraordinary Ordinary girl for example (I don't really like it on the album either though) and Holiday

I actually like alot of the musical, 21 Guns is outstanding, but Whatsername just doesn't work in it at all.

I am not a fan of musicals. There's very few I can actually tolerate. I didn't really think AI should've been a musical, but I supported the guys because it was something they wanted to explore. I just remember seeing one musical performance on an award show...I want to say they did 21 Guns or something and I was like -_- I don't like this! A big part of it has to do with the style, I'm just not into it and the fact I'm so used to hearing Billie sing, hearing anyone else do vocals is just weird for me.

I didn't like the musical soundtrack until after I'd actually seen the musical, but now I love the majority of songs on there.

The production I saw gave me chills. And I listen to songs from the Broadway recording all the time. I used to think musicals weren't my thing but AI showed me that not all musicals are glitzy jazz hands. And I've seen lots of different musicals since as a result - it's taken away my prejudice which can only be a good thing
Hermione
I'm glad they did the musical because it was a great achievement for them and probably did a lot to inspire them creatively and expand their skills (eg I doubt we'd have a song like Brutal Love without it, Billie's singing and performance skills etc). Just don't personally enjoy it

Hey, I'm sort of with you! I tended to skip it when delving into AI for real recently, maybe because the start of it felt kinda anti-climactic after instant highlight Homecoming? I like the remember whatever part on a good day though, there's just so many other songs that need attention. So yeah, I think we're on the same page (including re: Lazy Bones!) I find the songs that take the longest to grow on you and click are the ones that you truly feel when they do anyway, so there's no point rushing it (that goes for Brutal Love too )

AmyxLongview
Not sure if this is unpopular but I think Revolution Radio might be one of my top 3 favorite albums. It's just SO good! and Youngblood is one of the best songs on there and I'm obsessed with it
