In fact, the only 21CB songs I'm not fussed about is LNOE and, to some extent, 21 Guns (although the musical version gives me chills) On 03/03/2017 at 7:00 PM, AmyxLongview said: While Nimrod has a lot of really good songs on it, there are a lot of songs that are just average and could have been cut from the album (Jinx, Reject, Walking Alone, Take Back, Nice Guys Finish Last, All The Time). Oooh that is unpopular Nice Guys Finish Last is one of the best on the album. Although I will admit that the middle section of Nimrod sort of merge into one somewhat for me. Doesn't mean I don't still adore the album and it's one of my favourites! 16 hours ago, MysticManiac said: I'd say HC > FN > JOS > DRB I think all of them are great, but I don't understand why people like JOS so much more than Homecoming. HC is great from start to finish, JoS is also good but the only part that I love is Dearly Beloved. FN is a great song from the new album and DRB is good too, although it wouldn't be my favourite from the trilogy. It's nice to have a 6 minute multi-part song in the trilogy though. I agree about Homecoming being better than JOS. I just love when they get all experimental. It's hard to rank those songs though....I'd probably say HC > FN > DRB > JOS
Second favourite son
It's so hard to rank the multi-part songs because they're all pretty different and it very much depends on what mood I'm in. It also very much depends which part you look at. One thing I can say for sure though, is FN = HC = JOS >>>>>>> DRB. 32 minutes ago, Jenn. said: I like Christian's Inferno! There are days when I'm into it, but most of the time it just bores me to sleep, it drags on and on and is so musically and lyrically dull. The only upside is that it's super easy on Green Day Rockband It might even be my most skipped song of all time.

I like DRB Lyrically it's the weakest but I get a really good feeling listening to it anyway. It's in my top 5 trilogy songs for sure! And yeah, LNOE is so dull (can you believe I just typed 'full' as a typo? lmao) so it's a skipper for me too. Not sure if it's my most skipped song....that might be WMUWSE. At least LNOE is relatively short.

Okay, so I just listened it to make sure we were talking about the same song (we were) and turns out I actually do like it, I've just been skipping it for so long that I forgot how good it actually was because I'd pre-decided it was dull before giving it a chance. So yeah, I'll have to reverse my decision on that one. I'd still say it's the worst of the 4, the intro and outro are too long and a lot of the part changes feel forced. But it's probably only the worst by one >, rather than 7. Also that bass solo in the middle is killer! 17 minutes ago, Jenn. said: And yeah, LNOE is so dull (can you believe I just typed 'full' as a typo? lmao) so it's a skipper for me too. I like WMUWSE, though that could partly be because I've attached a fair bit of personal meaning to it, rather than just the song itself - I guess it is kinda repetitive.

And yes, DRB bass solo
MillenniumFan
I'd say: JOS>HC>FN>DRB. HC>JOS>FN>DRB would also be possible, because tbh, I don't JOS is massively better than Homecoming and I would't mind them being swapped out at a show, but if I'd have to rate them, I'd give JOS the slight upper hand. Now, just to be clear, I don't think FN should be replaced or got rid of this tour, because it fits very well as the show closer and it's a great song. But it yet has to stand the test of time and in my opinion as all time good songs, JOS and HC are just better than FN... And I'd have to agree with @Second favourite son, though I have rated JOS, HC and FN, they are, as a collective, vastly better than DRB in my opinion (Although that song is one of my favourite songs from Tre). Shahd
I think Whatsername is overrated. I don't see what's the big deal about it. It's okay just not that great.

Seriously, I find it to be a beautifully simple song, but unbelievably powerful about reflection and maybe a bit of regret. I think it is one of Billie's best vocal performances ever, he absolutely nails the sentiment of the song. IMO one of the best songs he has ever written and performed.

Lol I don't know, it does nothing for me, maybe I'm a cold hearted person I agree that his voice is nice in it, but I only listen to the beginning then I get bored and end up skipping it. Probably have to do with it being so slow. I still love you although you have Insomniac at the bottom of your list <

Hermione
The whole "Remember, whatever..." part of Whatsername is one of the most beautiful and epic sounding parts in a Green Day song (similarly to "How low is this brutal love..." or "Hallelujah I found my soul under the sofa pillows..."). Before that is nothing special but the climax is worth waiting for!

I think it's next to Still Breathing the most emotional GD song for me.

This made me laugh I kinda forgot that it's your username, although I know that it's your username I don't hate it, you'll even find me singing it sometimes, but it's just a normal song to me. Still Breathing and Lazy Bones are more emotional in my opinion.
Marki.
For me, the ending of Whatsername is definitely one of the most powerful moments in their whole discography. It gets me everytime I listen to it, don't want to imagine myself if I ever get to hear it live

Popular Post Spike
The only thing I don't like about Whatsername is that it, and therefore the whole of AI, ends with rhyming time with time. Other than that it's perfect.
