Blasphemy & Genocide: Unpopular Green Day Opinions, Part 2

Interesting to read all your opinions! I also love this thread, cause it sucks so much when certain opinions aren't shared cause they are "unpopular" in the community.

For me personally, both JoS and FN are really epic especially live. I once said to a friend (jokingly - not that I'd really do that): "If I'm ever at a GD show and they don't play JoS, I'm gonna start crying and walk out mid-show"

Christie Road is one of my least favourite Green Day songs. I don't hate it, but I know it's a hardcore fan favourite and it's never appealed to me that much.

I like the end of it quite a lot but other than that, I don't see the appeal

If you walked out mid-show you would miss it since they play it during the encore.  Best to be patient my love.

I like Christian's Inferno. Am I the only one?

I mean, it's not my favourite song but I don't really understand the hate

EDIT: Wrong thread oops lol

I could tell this was a mistake but I agree - it's a fun song.

I guess I should say something fangirly about Billie screaming or something

While Nimrod has a lot of really good songs on it, there are a lot of songs that are just average and could have been cut from the album (Jinx, Reject, Walking Alone, Take Back, Nice Guys Finish Last, All The Time).

I didn't know it received any hate. I actually like it a lot too.

Jinx, Reject, Walking Alone and Take Back are on the top of my favorite GD songs list! :( They're awesome, I really don't see your opinion, but I still respect it though.

Sorry but I have to respectfully disagree. Those are awesome songs and some of my favorites on Nimrod. I've had Nimrod playing in my car on repeat for the last month and I'm not sick of it. It's become my favorite Green Day cd.

Imo i think that the trilogy wasn't that bad, the bad thing about it was that it became a trilogy. They could have made it a 12 track album or something. Because there are some really good songs there. Not quantity - quality

I don't think that's an unpopular opinion. Most people say that it would be better as 1 album. Personally I think it's fine as 3

I have to agree, with the exception of Walking Alone, I love that song.  But Nimrod is actually one of my least favorite GD albums.  I still love it, but it is definitely toward the bottom for me.

Haha I'm sorry! :D I do like them, I just prefer other songs on the album like Scattered, Hitchin' a Ride, Prosthetic Head, Good Riddance, Haushinka, Redundant

It's not an unpopular opinion but given FN and JOS were discussed here a lot I will add my 50 cents:

Guys, to be honest, I've never been in such love with a Green Day song through my 12-years-greendayfan-experience as with Forever Now. It has every fucking thing I love Green Day for. It is as angry at parts as during the younger days, it is as reflexive as they became now, it is as epic as they sounded during AI - 21st CB days, it has this classic rock vibe which Billie adores and always wants to show his connection to it and it is simply PERFECT live.

Other than the hobo Billie Joe avi, you are my new favorite poster.

It's funny because I like the songs you just mentioned, but they're my least favorite songs off of Nimrod :P Total opposite opinions

Don't know if this is an unpopular or popular opinion but:

JOS> FN > Homecoming > DRB

I think JOS is one of the best songs BJ has written, therefore I've placed it as the best of these four long songs. I've placed Forever Now 2nd because I like the guitar riffs in the middle and towards the end, and it sounded really good live. Although Homecoming is slightly longer than JOS, to me, it feels really long to listen to, but I do like Mike and Tre's parts. I've placed DRB in 4th because it has the lyrics, which I feel are the weakest of those 4 songs.

I'd say HC > FN > JOS > DRB

I think all of them are great, but I don't understand why people like JOS so much more than Homecoming. HC is great from start to finish, JoS is also good but the only part that I love is Dearly Beloved. FN is a great song from the new album and DRB is good too, although it wouldn't be my favourite from the trilogy. It's nice to have a 6 minute multi-part song in the trilogy though.
