Wow you guys are taking all the fun out of it. Yes, Fun! Music is supposed to be enjoyable to listen to, not so serious. Some of you are analyzing Rev Rad to death. It 's ok to disagree and not like the album but this is at a new level.

I didn't analyze the album at all. It's true that I think some of the lyrics on there are not very good, but that's not the point. I just think some of the songs on there are not very good, so I don't like listening to them. That's why I Revolution Radio is not a very good album, it doesn't have anything to do with analyzing everything and taking the fun out of it. When I first got AI, I listened to it from the beginning to the end without even paying attention to the lyrics or the concept of the album, I was really just listening to the music and every new song was a "Whoa"-moment for me. I only started to get into the lyrics and the whole concept of the album later, but I already loved it at that point. I did the same with Revolution Radio, but there are too many meh songs on there for me, there's nothing that really blows me away except for the two singles and Still Breathing.

The thing is with these defences is that Billie expressed it so much better the first time round when it was actually happening. It's fine to look back on that time, just as long as that reminiscence isn't a pale imitation of the original.

I agree completely, like I've said before I think Bang Bang is one of their best in years and nothing else on the album compares.

Nah, the only Nimrod song I actively dislike is Take Back.

Bang Bang is great. When Billie said that if we liked Bang Bang, we would also love the rest of the album, I really got my hopes up. I don't really know why he thought so because almost every other song on the album is nothing like Bang Bang. :(

Really surprised at the Haushinka hate.

I don't hate it by any means (particularly enjoy the guitar solo, all the guitar actually, and the way it's combined with Jinx, and I never skip it). Every song on Nimrod is great but one of them has to be the worst even if it's still great :P

I don't hate it either but it feels like another interlude like last ride in and I think Jinx sounds better on its own. It is cool how well these two transition. For the first time I listened to it withought looking at the tracklisting and thought it was one long song - but that's it. Haushinka sounds like a very long intro.

I didn't realise Last Night On Earth wasn't universally loved until I started talking to some people here  I think it's their best love song. Is that an unpopular opinion? You'll break my heart if you say yes

Same.

Besides I can't dislike a song that makes me think of a cute dog video.

I quite like the lyrics to LNOE, but I think it's painfully boring. That and The Forgotten. The Forgotten isn't even on my radar as a Green Day song, but that might be a popular opinion!

I think it is their 2nd best love song, nothing beats Church on Sunday.  He just sounds so beautiful on it, I can't help but love it.

I love it too, as far as love songs go it's just amazing.

I used to be OK with The Forgotten but after a few listens it got boring as shit.

Last Night On Earth is wonderful , their best straight-up love song I'd say. Redundant has to be mentioned in this conversation though! Beats Church On Sunday as their best "realistic" love song for me.

My favourite teenage love song of theirs is The One I Want, which I feel is criminally underrated and also has my favourite guitar solo (just gets to me emotionally somehow). I think that must be an unpopular opinion.

I will always love and defend The Forgotten . Beautiful way to end Uno Dos Tre and I love that they really went for it with the strings and piano.

Church On Sunday is wonderful, but I think it would be in there behind Worry Rock (my one true love) and When I Come Around in terms of love songs. LNOE is so perfect to me though

Horseshoes and Hand Grenades is one of my least favorite songs in their entire discography.

To be honest, since the first listen I wasn't really keen on that one too, I always listen to it though even if I don't even care about it. I just don't know but I don't understand that song at all - why is it even on that record? That song passes me by, somehow.

The only song I skip is 21 Guns, not because I wouldn't like it, I love it, I just can't resist but when that songs starts I immediately want to hear the musical version. Thinking about it now, I probably haven't heard 21 Guns on 21st CB for a few years now, I prefer live version by GD or that musical version.

The Forgotten is a very pretty song.  I love the idea of Billie behind a piano.  I think it may get a bad rep because it is so different than anything they have ever done and it was in Twilight.

I love The Forgotten, too. Totally agree that it's the perfect end to the trilogy. I wish they'd played it live.

Nah, I dislike it 'cause I just find it kinda dull. As I recall Billie sounds kinda bored singing it too, there's not much passion in it.

Can I have an opinion or are you going to tell me I'm wrong every time???

You can have an opinion, not my fault if they tend to be opposite to mine :P I was just saying that my dislike for it doesn't come from the things you said it might.

I try so hard to like The Forgotten, but I just can't. I love the melody, I love the piano, I also love Billie's voice in it. But somehow the song just doesn't touch me, I don't feel it. It's one of the few songs on the trilogy I tend to skip.

Same, the lyrics just are a bit too cheesy for my taste. I don't dislike it but I can't say I like it either. I haven't listened to it in ages.

I don't actually know which songs people like from the Trilogy, since I tend to just see quite generalised hate for it collectively. Brutal Love is one of my favourite Green Day songs, but I really prefer the live version at Reading. Billie's voice is so beautiful when he carries that note in that performance 😍

That Reading performance is beautiful.
