GugsGreenDay
Castaway? Interesting choice, why? Misery is brilliant. I love Misery!! But i love Castaway too... But Misery is better!Impossible to make a top 3
Libertine Angel
Top three for me behind JoS and Castaway. Yeah, that is an unusual top 3. Mine would definitely be JoS, Homecoming and Basket Case, though Castaway is definitely in the top 10. It's just so damn catchy. It's a bloody crime against humanity that it wasn't a single. That's true, it is one of the most generally fun songs I've ever heard. I would so love to be in a moshpit for it.
Chin for a Day
Never thought about a top 3. I'm going with a top 4: JoS, Scattered, WICA and Whatsername
alienlifeform
I don't like to rank which songs i like better, but JOS is not on my top 50 Green Day songs

That has floored me more than Cigarettes and Valentines was not a real song.

alienlifeform
yeah, but don't undestand me wrong, I think it is a good song, but I don't see nothing special on it my favourites from AI are Homecoming and Letterbomb

Plus, it the lyrics are powerful and engaging, the melodies set the tone for the entire album. Plus, I could listen to Dearly Beloved on constant rotation. But Homecoming is better live.
Z J
Top three for me behind JoS and Castaway. oh my god we have the same top 2 Good Riddance is my third, I'd say. This has actually inspired me to re-order/update my GD favorites playlist
alienlifeform
Yes, but sayng it is not in your Top 50 has you ranking it where I would rank Platypus. that's the point, I like Green Day's whole catalogue but the old school records are my favorites. as I said above i really don't like to rank songs because I'm a die hard fan for almost 20 years, the band is part of my life.. it's hard to say one song is better than another when you have so much personal attachment with all of them
Spike
i feel like JOS shouldnt even count towards a top 3 because it's a given that it's miles above everything else I'd actually split it up and make City Of The Damned number 1 and the other parts are further down.
Anaïs.
I'd actually split it up and make City Of The Damned number 1 and the other parts are further down. I'm sorry, Dearly Beloved is clearly the best thing they've ever done.

I'll give you City of the Damned, but Dearly Beloved deserves to be at the top as well
Popular Post Spike
I'm sorry, Dearly Beloved is clearly the best thing they've ever done. I'm sorry but it contains the word 'retarded' and that is seriously one of the worst words you can say.
Z J
I'm sorry but it contains the word 'retarded' and that is seriously one of the worst words you can say. it's pretty common in the vernacular over here, not as often seen as a slur Also all of this talk about splitting up JOS is truly blasphemous, because JOS is ONE piece of incredible music that needs all 5 parts to be what it is.

I was quoting NimJim I mean yeah I agree, I wouldn't want to split it up, but I'd never be willing to put I Don't Care above Restless Heart Syndrome for any reason.
Chin for a Day
I'm sorry but it contains the word 'retarded' and that is seriously one of the worst words you can say. Retarded simply means something is delayed. It also contains such lyrical gems as: Are we demented Or am I disturbed? The space that's in between Insane and insecure

For me the most special in JOS is its incredibly exciting letter, his heavy rifs, its calm parts ... DookieLukie
I was quoting NimJim The irony was that I was doing that to be a dick. But now I'm actually a part of the Spread the Word to End the Word campaign, which is fighting to remove the word from common use. Funny how things come back to bite you. Retarded simply means something is delayed. It also contains such lyrical gems as: Are we demented Or am I disturbed? The space that's in between Insane and insecure Eh, in that situations, Billie is asking if he's retarded or insecure, meaning is he dumb or is he just insecure? Delayed doesn't work there. Popular Post Ritz
Macy's Day Parade is really under appreciated. I love that song! And coming to top 3 or even top 4, its a hard choice to make.

Delayed doesn't work there. Hmm, what do you think dumb is? It could mean intellectually delayed or the inability to speak. Retarded also means delayed in some fashion. In this context, Billie is using it to mean intellectually delayed. Same thing.
