Jax Teller
The whole emo, pop-punk clothing style does not suit Green Day. Band shirts are always off-limits for me too I don't understand why you said that the clothing style of Green Day is emo when emo is basically a rip off of punk and goth style. The eyeliner, the ties, the studded belts, the haircuts were there before emo. The style of the band during the era of American Idiot was great.
Mayonaise
I don't give a shit about other people categorising me, I'll wear whatever I like - I've got tour shirts from 21CB and Trilogy (O2 Arena and Brixton), a 39/Smooth shirt and two Libertines shirts, so them, black jeans and a biker jacket are what I wear pretty much all the time. Actually, fuck what I said. I wear an RHCP shirt with pride all the time. And I'd wear a Foo Fighters shirt if I had one.
AlissaGoesRAWR
I think that regardless of the whole rhyming "time" with "time" bit, the last lines of Whatsername are incredibly powerful, and I wouldn't have them any other way I think I can confidently say they're in my top 3 favorite Green Day lyrics of all time. Possibly my all-time favorite, although that's so difficult to say definitively. It seems you have neglected this part of FOD:When it's all said and done It's real and it's been fun But was it all REAL fun So interesting — FOD and Whatsername are my two favorite album closers, and the two closers on the band's two most successful albums, and both use a same-word "rhyme" in their lyrics. I never really noticed that before. I wouldn't go so far as to say they created the emo image (because they obviously didn't), but they certainly were instrumental in rocketing it into mainstream popularity back in the early 2000's. And BOBD was pretty much the first "emo" anthem to gain the sort of radio play and widespread acclaim that it did. I don't think the look was forced, it just was something they did that ended up being very popular as the whole emo thing gained traction. and thank god it did, my high school years would not have been the same without my crippling crush on Billie thanks to those dreamy, guy-linered eyes. This is basically a replica of my thoughts, so thanks for hijacking my brain. oh puh-lease I would wreck that in a hot second and I'M NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT IT. [drool] ... yes please! AlissaGoesRAWR
OK, I'll admit, that's not his best guyliner photo... how about this one? ^ 10/10 females born in the 1990s would wreck that, guaranteed.

BullwinkleCheech
Band shirts are basically all I wear, I see no problem with it. That's okay. We differ in opinion, but who actually cares? That's a way of formulating my words. I might even agree I don't understand why you said that the clothing style of Green Day is emo when emo is basically a rip off of punk and goth style. The eyeliner, the ties, the studded belts, the haircuts were there before emo. The style of the band during the era of American Idiot was great. Call it what you want, I just don't like it

Chin for a Day
A lot of people on here hate on Longview, but I think it's one of the best songs they've ever made. I don't think its the best they have ever made, but it is one of the top. It is definitely one of their most influential. One of the problems is it is very over played. If you are going to hear GD on the radio, it is one of the most likely songs. That is one of hte only reasons it has fallen further down the list for me. Libertine Angel
*The best It's good, definitely among their best, but it's no Jesus of Suburbia.
Hermione
It's good, definitely among their best, but it's no Jesus of Suburbia. No, but best doesn't have to mean most epic and technically accomplished.

The Disappearing Boy
Well a lot's happened in this thread in the 10 or so days since I last read it!Longview is probably top 20 for me, maybe? But I wouldn't say it's 'one of the best'.AAA by The Frustrators is better than the entirety of Nimrod. Discuss.I don't even know the song, but no. Guest
i cannot ever get in the mood to listen to insomniac, so ive never heard it in full crucify me Insomiac is the only GD album I listen to in full these days. Apart from Tight Wad Hill. That song is shite.
Z J
Yeah Tight Wad Hill fucking sucks but other than that I feel like Insomniac is the perfect album to listen to end to end. And the only mood you need to be in to listen to it is angry
Beerjeezus
I'm indifferent to Tight Wad Hill. Together with Westbound Sign it's the only Insomniac song I'm not really into. Can't see why is it so shite, though.
