"I might go crazy on these niggers, I don't give a motherfuck, Run up in a nigga house and shoot his grandmother up what, What I don't give a motherfuck get ya baby kidnapped and ya baby-mother fucked" the rhyme scheme of which is obviously comparable to this: "I'll never turn back time Forgetting you, but not the time." When it first came out the album, American Idiot, sounded like a cry for help. 21st Century Breakdown sounded like someone on the verge of giving up. The Trilogy sounded like someone full of complaints and an extreme lack of happiness. Someone needs hope, someone needs light and someone needs to know life. Yes, but to over analyze them to the point of assuming the band members are "unhappy with their lives" while writing them is just silly. Especially to assume American Idiot is a "cry for help" — it's an allegory of Billie's younger days, if anything — or 21CB is indicative of real-life "giving up." The band was on top of the world after American Idiot came out, so that interpretation of 21CB's intentions makes no sense to me. And we've already beaten the trilogy's proverbial dead horse to death.
