Blasphemy & Genocide: Unpopular Green Day Opinions, Part 2

That's hard - maybe a little boy named train or sex drugs violence - but I do like parts of each song.

& she is a great track. Still right at home in the setlist.

My least favorite is 21 Guns, come at me.

I don't think it's so unpopular - or at least it's among my least favorites too. I don't particularly dislike it but don't enjoy it either. I'm rather annoyed if it comes on the radio - don't need to hear it anymore. Maybe I'd tolerate it live, there would be more energy and I'd probably be so overjoyed that I wouldn't mind anything.

My three least favorite would have to be Wild One, Troublemaker and A Little Boy Named Train, for reasons I and others have laid out many a time.

Laughing at all the people liking Strangeland, Sweet Children, and Best Thing In Town more than songs that weren't recorded with a potato.

I'd take them over the three I listed any day.

At least their guitars will wake a baby, and the lyrics are cringey in a teenage-boy way and not an "Oh god Billie has lost it" way.

I always have room for a great anthem. The lyrics are poignant, the vocals beautiful and it is one of the best live tracks ever.

Wow, you actually made me hate the song more.

Mmmmm yes. Perfect stadium call and response/lighter-waving song.

I prefer the live version as well: 21 Heyooos

You guys just don't want to admit that you dun goofed with your Trilogy hate :D

Nah, I genuinely prefer anything from their early days to the worst of the Trilogy. The best of the Trilogy is clearly better than the 39/Smooth era, but not the three I mentioned.

hell yes. Hey-oooohhhh's forever tbh. Probably an unpopular opinion but I don't mind all of Billie's "heeyyy-oh"-ing one little bit.

I don't mind them either. Concerts are supposed to be fun and all the hey oh's may be stupid and childish, but their fun in person.

The lyrics are actually: "One...jk 21 heyooos." He pauses to correct himself.

I forgot these exist.

It's just my personal least favorite. I don't think its their overall worst song. There's MUCH worse songs they've made. (Although for me it's down there)

When I first heard it, I had mixed feelings. Now every time I see it being #2 on the "Best Green Day Songs" list on TheTopTens.com I want to jump off a bridge.

I honestly don't have any least favorites. I have "least listened to" because I don't have the time to listen to full albums anymore, but one doesn't necessarily mean the other.

btw Sex, Drugs and Violence is great if you let it grow on you! It's like a sticky, infectious cyst that gets stuck in your head forever (just like the Beej himself).

Take Back, Nightlife and Rest, starting at the worst. Though Rest and Rotting can switch places sometimes.

They're all different for Green Day so makes sense I suppose. I tend to like their more different sounding songs a lot though :P

This , and not only that they must've been written when they were like 14 and it shows. I like them for the isn't it cool/cute to hear how their songwriting started out and what they sounded like recording on the spur of the moment on a tiny budget and turns out it wasn't bad factor, but I couldn't rate them above any of their other songs. Except maybe I Want To Be Alone.

Yes! I also remember it feeling really new and different when it first came out because of the falsetto (it's crazy how used to it I am now when at first it sounded so novel), and also the cool sounding part right at the beginning that's repeated after the guitar solo which is very sadly cut out in the music video and on the radio. So I don't really get complaints that it's boring etc. It's a great song.

I am also pro-hey-ohh

Why She, may I ask?

Sure you may ask, but I won´t be able to give you an accurate answer. ;) Especially for you I just listened to it again. :) Just to find out, it´s not that bad anymore, I just don´t relate to it in any way. Okay, I shall take it off of my worst-list... :ninja:

OH, She is brilliant. :) I just can't deal with the lyrics of Platypus. Last of the American Girls is ok and Kill the DJ is great if you can ignore the lyrics.

Haha, I mostly ignore the lyrics, I can´t cope with the melody of Kill the DJ. :D

Kill the dj is a funky little tune ☺️ Hated it though the very first time I heard it.

What's wrong with I Want To Be Alone ? :/
