Blasphemy & Genocide: Unpopular Green Day Opinions, Part 2

Any album with MPLS Song on it can't be horrible!

Billie's is good too! And it is mostly him and Jason, so I don't mind a bit of the others occasionally.

Actually I've been wondering which other members sing. Like I assume it was Sarah (then known as Mike) on Jump Salty but was it Aaron too? And is it sometimes Bill? They're all credited for vocals on at least some of the albums so I wonder who sings on which songs or if some only ever did backing vocals.

I think Aaron sings The Porch.

I think Aaron sings The Porch.

Hmm yeah I think he must, he's credited for vocals on the album and is even depicted as singing it with the others in the artwork, and it sounds how he's described his voice . I wonder if other vocals that sound like that are always Aaron or if other members have similar voices and sing as well.

Edit: I've just gone and asked if anyone knows who sings what in the Pinhead Gunpowder thread, probably a better place to find out/discuss it.

I kind of thought that the line "stop when the red lights flash" had something to do with being in a red light district.

(which from my understanding is an area of prostitutes and sex traders)

I agree, red lights represent sex and places where prostitutes are picked up so I think it refers to picking someone up for sex.

I think you are both spot on. The next line is I'll trade you blood for dirty cash. It fits in perfectly with the concept of a red light district. Plus the whole rest of the song fits in as well.

Am I seriously the only one who likes "Rotting"?

Nope! It's so different to any other song they've done, sounds beautiful and I love the almost gothic dark lyrics so it's a winner for me.

What? No, we all know that BJ as a clean catholic means to stay away from the evil. It´s a warning not to step into hell and sin and filth, maybe he speaks out of his own experience, and wants to protect helpless, innocent people....

Well no... it probably means picking someone up for sex... :toocool:

No way! Love love love that track. Matter of fact, think I might listen to it right now. ;)

Rotting is my 4th least favourite Green Day song, but it's still not bad.

What are the 3 worse?

Take Back, Nightlife and Rest, starting at the worst. Though Rest and Rotting can switch places sometimes.

Oh wow, Platypus is one of my alltime favourites. And I like Take Back, and I loooooove Christian´s Inferno. My least liked songs would be She, Last of the American Girls (always skip that one) and Carpe Diem (along with Kill the DJ). But on the whole... in a way I can find something bearable in all of them... ;)

OH, She is brilliant. :) I just can't deal with the lyrics of Platypus. Last of the American Girls is ok and Kill the DJ is great if you can ignore the lyrics.
