That would not work if we got married. Actually, as long I get control of the TV I really don't care about anything else. Also, read your damn PMs :P

That's exactly how it would work if we got married, don't kid yourself :P

Last Ride In is amazing & I will fight you.

eh it's not bad. The 'surf' vibe isn't really my thing, but it's far from the worst thing they've done. But considering the gems on the rest of the album, it doesn't really stand a chance of being considered good in my opinion.

Also, the run from Haushinka to the end of Nirmod pisses on most of their back catalogue, and all of the Trilogy.

I agree that it pisses all over the Trilogy, but IMO Nimrod ' s back half is weaker than its first half. Haushinka is one of the best things they've ever done, and KFAD, Good Riddance and Prosthetic Head are brill, but Walking Alone, Reject and Take Back don't *quite* measure up to the album's first half. Still excellent, just not quite as excellent.

There are songs in the world that are just nonsense (eg I Am The Walrus) but these songs aren't, their meanings are quite clear and so are most of the individual lyrics. There might be the occasional lyric that defies explanation or is deliberately nonsense but otherwise they're just normal songs, just because their meanings aren't totally serious and noble it doesn't mean it isn't worth explaining them. Are you seriously saying you have no idea what any of the songs you mentioned are about or what any of the lines in them mean? Or that the lines I gave an explanation for when asked, "She gave up on Jesus for living on Venus" and "I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, I jumped on the grenade", aren't able to be understood? Like, how is explaining what the well known phrase "drinking the Kool-Aid" means convoluted? Like almost all of Green Day's lyrics they're pretty simple as far as I can see.

Expressing that you don't like a song's lyrics or find them nonsensical is one thing but I find it a bit silly for people to be telling others they shouldn't discuss the lyrics of a Green Day song that they're interested in on a Green Day fan forum made for discussing Green Day's music . For people who like the song it's enjoyable and there's no harm in it whether you think the song is worthy of it or not.

I want to clarify that I have no issue discussing song lyrics that I don't like or that I personally don't find to make sense. Just trying to say there's a difference :P I love the discussion in here, I wouldn't be here if I didn't!

Anyone who says Warning is the best thing ever is literally just trying to be a hipster.

idk, nimrod was my favorite green day album ten years ago but nowadays i don't think it would even be top 5. it's good, and scattered and worry rock and reject and hitchin' a ride are amazing, but i really don't think it's one of the Greatest Albums Ever like a lot of gd fans seem to. warning is really overrated in this fanbase too :P

I think Warning has 3 of their best songs (Macy's Day Parade, Minority, and Castaway). Church on Sunday, Misery, and Blood Sex and Booze are great too. But while I love it I'd probably put rank it fifth among GD albums. AI, Insomniac, 21CB, Dookie, Warning, Kerplunk, etc.

Yeah I agree there's a difference! Disagree that the songs being discussed don't make sense though, haha.

I know I know, we may never agree on that :P Not that I'll stop trying, though. (N'or will you, I expect  )

Warning was my fave for a long time (save AI, but that's just assumed really), but Nimrod. has since overtaken it. Still an utterly amazing album though, and one whose sound I wish they'd experimented further with.

Warning's alright. I appreciate them trying to go in a completely different direction, but it's just not my thing.

The ghost of Gregor's account would be proud.

Every time someone calls him that I picture The Mountain That Rides posting on GDC.

"One day, when Gegor joined a site called GDC, everyone but him found that he had transformed into a dreadful bug" is the one that comes to my mind :P

I think Reject is just as good as anything on the rest of the album, but aye, Walking Alone is the weakest on it. Except Take Back, which I try my utmost to erase from my memory.

Walking Alone's great. As is Reject. As is Take Back. They're all great. :P

Reject is great, Walking Alone is quite good, Take Back is vile.

I really like Warning but because I like most of their other albums more it gets squeezed down low on my list (with only 39/Smooth and Kerplunk lower, and without the amazing Blood Sex and Booze it'd probably be at the bottom). Not massively into the folky sound compared to other sounds they've tried, and while I appreciate what they did with the lyrics (starting to be more outward looking and commenting on society instead of mostly just looking inward) they don't really "speak to me" as they do on other albums. Plus that effect used on Billie's voice at certain points is horrible :P. I do enjoy every song though, plus as mentioned Blood Sex and Booze is exceptional and easily in my top 5 Green Day songs and being one of only 12 songs that gives the album quite a leg up.

There's nothing on Nimrod that can't be described as great in every way!

warning has some really great songs (mostly macy's day parade) but overall it's not one of my favorites. that being said, i don't at all think it's a bad album, and was obviously a daring step for the band to take, which i respect.

nimrod as a whole feels like a good album, but not many of the songs really stand out to me. although i've always had a strange fondness for prosthetic head.

I don't get the hate for Christian's Inferno, what's wrong with it?

i've always quite enjoyed it, so i don't really understand either. i realize it's repetitive and disjointed or whatever, but it still feel like it has a great energy and it's something i can enjoy listening to.
