P.S. Please don't take anything I have to say about the Trilogy personally. I'm in a particularly caustic mood at the moment and I'm trying to keep myself from ripping someone else's head off by ripping your's off over the Trilogy  sorry!!

What she said, basically. I'm snarky to a fault but don't hate you. :P

Guys stop it you're beginning to make me hate the trilogy :'(

Mission accomplished. :P

So you accuse us of not having enough points and when we give them you refuse to refute them?

Guys stop it you're beginning to make me hate the trilogy :'(

We're just doing to you what was done to us by Ceadagh about a year ago :P

Nice to know some people liked the trilogy before all the mean people got to us.

I disagree that Billie didn't care about the promotion of the trilogy. It was his fault that he got in to the mess he was in but I don't think that he didn't care, he realised that he was in a bad place and got himself out of it. Surely having a poorly promoted trilogy was worth a healthy Billie

I love Billie to death, but he didn't realize he was in a bad place until after he took handfuls of Xanax, handfuls of sleeping pills and drank his limited body weight in alcohol before going on stage for a nationally televised benefit concert. He was forced to realize. He was a walking disaster during the trilogy days.

I agree that he was, but at least after that he did go to rehab. Some rockstars may have refused and ended up killing themselves.

I'm clutching at straws here I know.

lyrics of 'money drugs and hoes'

That's basically Makeout Party in a nutshell, and I say this as a Trilogy fan.

I'd consider myself a Trilogy fan if Dos was excluded. In my mind's eye Dos has switched places with Stop, Drop and Roll as both are stylistically similar. I perceive SDR as a proper GD album and Dos as a side project album and I'm happy

Am I the only one who thinks that Uno is the worst of the trilogy? Most of it is boring in comparison. I like Dos a lot, it just needed a little extra push to sound as good as an FHT album (tbh it does sound a bit like a half-assed FHT record, but I still enjoy it). Tre will always be my favorite anyway, since a majority of my favorite trilogy songs are from it, but I don't really get why people are so up in arms about it.

DOS is definitley the worst of the trilogy. Much of UNO sounds the same but I quite like the sound (not that I could explain what it really is).

I despise Kill The DJ

I swear I'm the only one who thinks Dos is the best in the trilogy. I just love songs like "Stray Heart" and "Makeout Party". Those two songs have some of Mike Dirnt's best bass work IMO.

Stray Heart is in my top 5 songs from the trilogy.

I don't think I ever said Billie didn't care, I said that he seemed not to care. Which is honestly just as bad. He was too busy being drunk/drugged up/a fucking weirdo to effectively promote the albums. His behavior was really the icing on the cake for the whole disaster.

He's still a sweet, fluffy little rock star cupcake but damn, he was a train wreck during the Trilogy promotions, there's no denying it.

I seem to remember thinking that the planned promotion before iheart was pretty good. But when rehab happened, they were never really gonna promote it.

Guys stop it you're beginning to make me hate the trilogy :'(

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls we may have another convert here! Can anyone find the post by Zack from either this thread or the old one that explained how crap the trilogy was?

I think Uno is the worst. In fact, it's the worst Green Day album full stop for me. Tied with Dos, anyway.

I'm not converted yet, you guys are going to have to try and convince me a tiny bit more for me to convert fully.

Yeah, same. Apart from Nuclear Family, Kill the DJ and Oh Love, Uno is just so completely flat and same-sounding.

"Hey!

I like your BMW

I like your BM-excellent tits

With a tattoo of a pig sniffing glue"

"Gonna ride the world like a merry-go-round

Like a Ferris wheel that's breaking down

Drinking angel's piss, gonna crash and burn

I just want some action so gimme my turn"

"Oh, anyhow, anywhere

Kiss me there, oh kiss me there

Oh, scream and shout, truth or dare

Kiss me there, oh kiss me there"

etc, etc.

For a great version of Stray Heart just listen to Mother Mary

Yeah, I'd switch Stay the Night for Oh Love, and add Let Yourself Go if I were being very generous! The second half of the album is boring.

Personally, "Loss of Control", "Angel Blue", and "Rusty James" were pleasant surprises for me. Some I would even consider to be the best on the album.

Angel Blue has elements that make it promising, but the chorus falls flat (a problem that exists in much of the trilogy). I love the bridge a lot, and the demolicious version is definitely an improvement.

Loss of Control was the only real surprise for me, there was a really poor quality recording of what was known at the time as "Crushing Bastards" (Much better name imo), and I only listened to it a few times before Uno. All the other tracks had decent quality recordings that I listened to nonstop before the album came out. So that's partially why I enjoyed Loss of Control so much, it was the only one I wasn't sick of :P

Currently, the only song from Uno that's lasted in my interests is Nuclear Family. That one I can still listen to and enjoy.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the trilogy when it came out, and for up to 6 months afterwards. But I've really grown out of it.

Well, what about Tré? I haven't seen a whole lot of discussion on it in this trilogy conversation.

I always thought "Amanda" was a highly underrated song. One of the ones I'm surprised wasn't on Demolicious.
