Blasphemy & Genocide: Unpopular Green Day Opinions, Part 2

DRB could make maybe three good songs. But as it is? Clusterfuck.

The fact that it's a random clusterfuck of general mindless fun is why it's so great - it's just Green Day doing whatever comes to mind.

Green Day doing whatever comes to mind has been proven to be a terrible idea :P

Not always - Misery was a weird song that's just whatever they happened to come up with, but that's great.

I don't have a problem with Troublemaker - it's not their most sophisticated work, obviously, but it's not trying to be. It does exactly what it's trying to do, and it's a pretty fun song.

Of course DRB is shit lyrically and doesn't hang together. But that middle section's instruments make up for a whole damn lot, especially with Dookiefied guitars.

The first part of the song is pretty good. Musically, the middle part is decent too, including those solos. But then it's just a bit meh. The outro is crap too.

The outro is self-explanatory - "carried away, carried awaaaay". It's the raucous fun adrenaline of the rest of the song burning itself out.

I actually quite like Nightlife. I used to hate it, but it's definitely grown on me. Unpopular - yay or nay?

Brutal Love and Missing You are the only ones listening to be honest. Good job they're the first two I guess! X-Kid is alright I suppose.

brutal love puts me right 2 sleep

Doesn't stop it from being a boring melody with one lyric repeated ad nauseum.

Am I literally the only person who actually really likes the ending? It's hardly the first time they've repeated one lyric ad nauseum and it's never been a problem before. I don't care if you don't, etc.

Also Misery is easily one of their best songs.

It's not the most spectacular ending, but I think it's decent enough.

And yes, Misery is great.

That wasn't the conclusion of the song. :P Also, look at how many of us give shit to KYE, Kill the DJ, Let Yourself Go, etc. for just being the same lyric repeated over and over. It's hardly only a thing for this song. :P

Also Misery is easily one of their best songs.

That's my boy. ;)

Agreed, always loved it. Plus, It is probably the first time they ventured past a 3 minute song

Brain Stew/Jaded is 4:43

But they are split into two songs just like you could use Chump/Longview as an example

Misery can be said to be one of the first of long songs that's a single song
