Sauli
Yes! That's the direction Green Day should take. After the failure of the trilogy they need something new and radical, and a folk punk album would be great, and the controversy surrounding the change of style would be just a big plus. Challenge the damn status quo! At least, it wouldn't be boring.

Spike
Now the thread is deserted except for some kelp And a piece of an old rep that lies on the shore You always responded when I PM'd your help You gimme a user title and a key to the door. Oh wow. Also can you imagine Gogol Bordello covering Misery? I can hear Eugene singing "Mr Whirly had a catastrophic incident" in my head and I'm giggling. It'd be so good.

Sauli
Fastest fingers in the Midwest. *twirls revolver* It is nearly as eerie as Ryan's ability to answer only a few minutes after his name has been mentioned No, Ryan, I didn't call you btw No hurry
Libertine Angel
Or Bob Dylan. That would be both amazing and weird. They have both done Christmas songs though, so that's one more thing they have in common.
Anaïs.
I wish Billie would go up at the end of each "doesn't even pound" in the Rusty James chorus rather than down; it sounds flat as is.

Z J
I always forget that song exists and find it incredibly hard to recall how it goes. It definitely doesn't have a riff or hook that one can really grab on to, I've found. And Bob's vocals are no worse than Billie's these days. ...don't you think I didn't see this shit
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love
What?!?! Rusty James is the catchiest song they've ever made. I'm not even exaggerating, I can't think of a catchier song of theirs. Also I disagree about the doesn't even pound thing; it'd sound really cheesy and lame if it went up (like in the last time he sings it). Well there isn't really room for that kind of a note in the middle of the chorus. I don't think that the note should go up so much as I think they should change the way the word falls in the melody to make it sound less flat or something
Spike
I've always hated the delivery on the last line of the second verse in Rusty James. Like what the fuck are you doing Billie?
Clockwise
Man, I sure do love Rusty James. I sure do love the trilogy.
grene cniht
I wish Billie would go up at the end of each "doesn't even pound" in the Rusty James chorus rather than down; it sounds flat as is. I wish instead he would sing the bridge (I'm not sure if it actually is a bridge since I'm not an expert on these kind of things, anyway the "and all the losers..." part) right before the last chorus and go up like he does on Demolicious. It's actually quite the reason Rusty James is my favourite song off Demolicious. I've always hated the delivery on the last line of the second verse in Rusty James. Like what the fuck are you doing Billie? What? Man, I love that part! Edited October 12, 2014 by Class of Thirteen

Spike
What line...? "Where the fuck is your old gang, man." Makes me cringe every time and ruins an otherwise great song.
AlissaGoesRAWR
"Where the fuck is your old gang, man." Makes me cringe every time and ruins an otherwise great song. I had to go back and listen to it again... and I still don't know what's wrong with it! I like the contrast between the calm "where the hell is the old gang at" line in the first verse and the shouting tone of that line in the second verse. That being said, it does come off as him trying to be a bit of a hard ass and failing. I'm sure if you took the music out and it was acappella, it'd be laughable. I never realized Demolicious kept them both calm though. Interesting. I wonder why they changed it?
