And I don't care what anyone says the Whatesername video is awesome. Yeah, it's quite weird really. It wouldn't have been a great choice of single either, as fantastic a song as it is. I think it would have been a perfect single, especially when you look at the success they had with BOBD and then 21 Guns. Radio friendly rock ballads sell well. It is like the radio station put it on because they know they get a long break. It shits me when they play it & cut lyrics out - I would rather not hear it. If I'm making a favorite list the top 5 it would go: JOS Castaway Good Riddance J.A.R. Holiday But best would be: JOS Holiday Good Riddance Homecoming 21CB (or a host of other close songs) Now, one could argue for days on either list but I do think it's possible to separate "best" from "favorite". Longview could be somones favorite song and that is far more reasonable than saying it is their best song. Longview is a great song. I don't understand the hate. If I'm making a favorite list the top 5 it would go: It's possible to make that distinction, but I'd say in general someone just saying it's the best song usually means they like it best for whatever reasons rather than it's somehow technically the best.
