A cappella apart from the guitar accompaniment, right?

It's been about 2 years since I've listened to that song, give me credit for even remembering which part of the bloody song she was talking about :P

People who don't listen to a song that's so magnificent as East Jesus Nowhere do not deserve any credit.

Basically all I've been listening to for the past year are CHVRCHES, Biffy Clyro, Stiff Little Fingers, Jawbreaker, Bruce Springsteen, The Clash, and Tom Waits. I think I'm listening to quality enough stuff tbh.

Can you tell at what minute of a song that happened?

At about 3:55(give or take a few seconds)

The phrase you're looking for is "a cappella".

thanks!

I have no words for how wrong you are.

Understandable. He's a brilliant lyricist but musically I just can't do it.

Listen to Closing Time, his first album. Long before he went batshit insane. It's probably my favourite album of his.

Yeah Kay hates us for that entire project really. It brought up too many painful memories of when she was married to NimJim.

Speaking of Springsteen, he should cover 21st Century Breakdown. It'd be perfect.

The only one of those even close to being hipster are CHVRCHES and they're already getting over 5000 people at festival slots :P

I'm seeing them at Brixton on Thursday and it's sold out. Incredibly obscure indeed...

Not so much an opinion as something that I hope will lead to discussion of opinions: what d you think is their strongest single to date? I lean toward a three way tie between Good Riddance, BOBD and WICA. They've written better songs, but as hit singles and radio standbys those are just perfect.

As far as singles that have done exactly what singles are supposed to do, nothing tops American Idiot (song) for me. It was such a statement, given the context of Green Day's career and the general paranoia of the nation at the time. Nobody expected GD to come out with something that hit so hard.

Good Riddance would be a close second, mostly because it just kind of surprised people. Especially when you consider that it followed an album like Insomniac, the listeners were confused at first I'm sure.
