bjrules
I agree with Kerplunk being their second best album. Apart from AI and Kerplunk, every Green Day album has at least one filler song: 1039 SOSH: Rest, Road to Acceptance Dookie: In The End Insomniac: Brat, Tight Wad Hill Nimrod: All The Time, Jinx Warning: Fashion Victim, Hold On 21st CB: Christian's Inferno Uno: Carpe Diem Dos: Ashley, Baby Eyes, Stop When The Red Lights Flash, Lady Cobra Tre: Little Boy Named Train Not saying I hate any of those songs, but they all have a filler vibe about them. On the other hand, I don't think Kerplunk has any filler, apart from Dominated Love Slave which is a joke song anyway.

For if no form of concealment can stop the despotic travesty of an admin whose power has become excessively voluminous, and simultaneously his feeling of his own omnipotence has become unbearable, I proclaim that we need a vigorous revolt against that damned hand of destruction.

Aye, we must cast off the shackles of our lackeyship, remove ourselves from the act of leaping upon his erect and bloody-crimson genitals, and rise up! The proletariat of GDC shall have a new dawn, a rising era of self-representation and self-perpetuation! For what is the rule of law but the rope of the noose about our necks? Better not let NimJim see us using all these big words. He'll say we have no lives.

Well spoken, brother, for instead of seeking a tranquil shade and hiding here cowardly we must hold fast that mortal sword and even when we shall face the most perilous danger in the whole Christendom, we shan't let it gallow us, for what is fear itself but the mortal peril of all advancement? If Nimjim thinks I have no life, I take it merely as a compliment, for his conception and mine of what having a life means do differ greatly

For life is but a transient thing, and to spend it in this, the worthiest of causes, is by far a better thing than to cower in our beds whilst Robnonbnob runs rampant across this, the most beautiful of symposiums (though more an atheistdom than a Christendom if my reckonings prove true). We must be brave, and in so doing save ourselves and our brethren! I forget, were you there when Zack Jones, Tim and I triple-teamed him on that issue? Fucking theatre.

Yes, for life is but a few eyeblinks and by any minute the spirit of it may flee from us. So, seize the day and let the battle begin. And if we were to die, at least we would die in the knowledge that we endeavoured the best we were capable of whilst fighting that tyrannical Tomknocktomknob. And being true to himself is the greatest and most eminent strive man can have, and by doing so we'll acquire it . For as that great knight Dylan penned, "You were always there when I needed help/The beach is deserted except for some kelp." Knockdockrock knows this, and he fears the simple greatness of that phrase. Hoo boy, you're in for a treat.

Libertine Angel
I can't believe I went through that again after the Doctor Who thread. Aside from Ashley, Rest and In The End, you've listed a lot of brilliant songs there. Especially All The Time. That's fantastic.

Popular Post Todd
I feel bad for anyone that thinks Road to Acceptance is filler. It's just about impossible to justify. The song has an anti-racism, anti-prejudice theme, along with a sick bass line. And if the song was just filler, Green Day wouldn't have played it constantly up through their Insomniac tour. That's a song that they wanted people to hear. Same reason why they'd play Resolution by Fifteen during the bridge of Paper Lanterns. Not only to give a shoutout to their fellow east bay punk band, but to spread the anti-hate theme.
