WhiteTim
Uno broke the record for swear words on a Green Day album with a grand total of 47. Dos had 15, the same as 21st Century Breakdown, and Tre had 7, making it their third cleanest album to date, behind Warning and Kerplunk. Yeah, yeah. I know. I made a Green Day powerpoint and it has a list of curses from each album. What can I say, I'm a fan. Did you not count 1039? Other than Knowledge I can't think of the F word on there
Amanda
I've never liked Hitchin' a Ride, it just annoys me for some reason.
Anaïs.
I've never liked Hitchin' a Ride, it just annoys me for some reason. What's not to like? The lyrics are fantastic, the solo is rocket-fueled, the pounding of the drums after each verse is like an assault, the video is probably the best they've ever done. Definitely in my top three GD songs.

Even the video winds me up.
Beerjeezus
I've thought about it, and I can't come up with a detailed reason. It just grates on me, and it always has. Even the video winds me up. The video used to creep me out for no reason. Then I menaged to forget it existed and Hitchin' A Ride grew on me now it's one of my favourite Green Day songs of all time. Love the lyrics.
klytaemnestra
I may be the only one who doesn't think Billie is a bad actor. what? really? dude. i remembered my unpopular opinion from ages ago cause it happened again today: i'd rather listen to christian's inferno than oh love (even the demo version) (there was a shuffle-related dilemma). It is definitely the weakest point in the album, but it's the only glimmer of happiness St. Jimmy and Whatshername get, so I would leave it in simply for the balance. Before this track, he's overdosing on drugs and after it his girlfriend is crying and crying, thinking about leaving him. So....yeah. I think Saint Jimmy really deserves this sliver of poppy happiness. We all do every once and a little while. Can you send me your powerpoint? I do shit like that too
The Disappearing Boy
what? really? dude. Yeah, really. I mean, he's not gonna be winning any Oscars any time soon. And admittedly, his range doesn't really extend outside of weirdos, hobos and rock stars, but considering it's his secondary profession, and he's never received any training, he's not bad. Apparently, he was quite good as St. Jimmy on Broadway.

And most actors will tell you acting on Broadway and in movies are quite different

Ian1234
what's not to like? Eh, it's kinda "sour" in the middle. I just wish it was little shorter as well...

dudley dawson
I think that Brutal Love is overrated... Agreed, Sam Cooke's song is classic, not sure why GD had to touch it? I actually like the song Sweet 16... My favorite song on Uno. Absolutely beautiful song.
Popular Post Sauli
I agree that it bothers me a bit that they borrowed that melody, but on the other hand, the best part of it that comes in the end is original. And after all, they gave Cooke a credit, so there's nothing morally wrong with it. Besides, the build-up is amazingly well done. All in all, it is one of the best songs on the Trilogy.

grene cniht
11 F words on 1039/Smooth. That's not true, there are no F words except for Knowledge.
Todd
11 F words on 1039/Smooth. There aren't any besides the one in Knowledge. How did you come up with 11?
Hermione
Yeah it even says there's only a swear word in Knowledge and other than that Green Day don't swear in the "My Adventure With Green Day" story haha. Maybe Billie just pronounced some words so unclearly they sound a bit like fuck to some ears? I actually like the song Sweet 16... A lot of complaints about it seem to be from people who think he's singing about a 16 year old (I don't know if they couldn't hear the rest of the lyrics or something). I love it! A romantic and nostalgic punk rock love story.
