Not green day, but doesn't swing swing by the all american rejects sound slow to you guys? I feel it should be faster.

No, it doesn't. And we have an All American Rejects thread, this is just for Green Day.

It now pertains to green day

Apart from the fact it has nothing to do with them in reality. Again, we have an AAR thread.

I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make, but you're more than welcome to make it in this thread - http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/21171-all-american-rejects/

And if you need a way to connect the two bands you could always just mention that The All-American Rejects got their name from a Green Day song, rather than making things up that never happened.

What GD song is that?

Goddamnit, autocorrect. GR, I was trying to say. :P

You...you don't like Prosthetic Head?

Good Riddance always felt like a more natural album closer to me. After it, Prosthetic Head feels a bit like an afterthought. It's a good song though, I might change the running order in my iTunes, to see if it sounds any better the other way round.

See, I've always felt that GR is way too atypical for Green Day at that point of their career, and too different from the rest of the album in general, to end on. And Prosthetic Head just *sounds* like a natural closer--I can't think of anywhere else it would fit on the album.

Also, it's just a fantastic song in general--the Pixies-type use of quiet-verses-loud-chorus is done to great effect.

I think not going down the route of ending the album with the slow song that's saying "goodbye" is so Nimrod! It's a quirky album full of surprises and I think that would've been kind of a corny way to end it, too traditional. And Prosthetic Head does still have an "ending" feel to it, just not as obvious, so as well as feeling like kind of an extra surprise after Good Riddance it still provides a good ending.

Nimrod is my favourite album. I love Reject, I don't get the hate.

Although, I do understand hate on "A Little Boy Named Train".

The way Green Day's menagement dealt with the promotion of the Trilogy wasn't that bad imho. There was no way to continue without getting even more negative publicity and starting again 6 months later would be weird. Letting the whole thing be forgotten was probably the smartest thing to do.

And I don't know how unpopular is this, but I think the setlists should be more variable. Knowing what songs are going to be played (at least most of them) and in which order gets pretty boring after a while. Also, more people would attend multiple concerts. Despite my love for the band, I probably wouldn't bother travelling to see almost the same show.

It seems like I'm one of the few people who likes the second half of Nimrod then. Haushinka to Good Riddance is a brilliant run of songs.

I like the second half of Nimrod, but Worry Rock, Uptight, and Redundant > Haushinka and Prosthetic Head

The Grouch, Redundant and Scattered is the best three song run on any Green Day album.

Jesus of Suburbia, Holiday, Boulevard of Broken Dreams. You could even say American Idiot, JOS, Holiday/BLVD because it connects.

I have to agree with you here. Redundant is great but it can't measure up.

Baby Eyes, Lady Cobra, Nightlife ;)

No, but in all honesty, and I remember people saying this a while back, the first 5 songs of UNO is probably the strongest opening of a Green Day album except AI.

Nah, Carpe Diem spoils it and I'm not a huge fan of Stay the Night.

Letterbomb, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Homecoming.

And Whatsername!
