Should I start talking about singles? AI must be the most overrated GD song ever. The songs are too long... Just for the start. I don't like it. Is that so wrong? There wasn't a mainstream "Fuck Bush" theme. First off, the only song that's "Fuck Bush" is American Idiot itself, the rest has very little to do with him directly, and only Holiday tangentially related by being anti-war. In 2003 when they were writing it, there wasn't a mainstream "Fuck Bush" theme. Bush was still popular enough to win re-election in 2004. That's personal preference/opinion. It's just the reasons given (such as not liking AI fans, or claiming that "fuck Bush" was a mainstream thing), and your acting as if other people are at fault for liking it that people are disagreeing with. The only part of the song that seems a little out of place compared to the rest of it is the third part, but I think the transitions to and from it are good enough that it flows fairly well. In fact, thinking about it, the only transitions in Jos are from part 1 to 2 and part 3 to 4. For the others, one part stops and the next part starts immediately after.
