Pat1308 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 i really respect your opinion, but tre ends with forgotten paying tribute to all those great personalities whom, the world has really forgotten, remember, the starting with Brutal love, the end is justified. I'm with you on Brutal Love at least, but The Forgotten...I appreciate (what I think is) the sentiment behind it, but good sentiments do not always good music make. Quote

Sauli Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I sill maintain my opinion that it would be a good song if it had at least passable lyrics. It's melodically promising 1 Quote
Spike Posted August 1, 2014 Author Posted August 1, 2014 I sill maintain my opinion that it would be a good song if it had at least passable lyrics. It's melodically promising It's still really bland and doesn't go anywhere musically though. It could reach the higher echelons of not bad but I think anything beyond that is an exaggeration. Quote
The Disappearing Boy Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 It's just horribly boring. I mean, really boring. Quote
Hermione Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Boooo! I like The Forgotten music and lyrics wise and find it interesting. Love them going all out ballad with the violins and stuff, and the simple sentiment of the lyrics is a nice and positive way to conclude the "story" of the albums. 1 Quote
Oxymore Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I liked the Forgotten until I heard it at the end of Twilight. Idk, it just became weird to me Quote
Guest Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I dunno how anyone could like the lyrics of The Forgotten. What's it even about? It sounds like Billie watched every Disney movie ever and then used random pieces of dialogue to form a song. Quote

And how can one '[lose] faith to' or '[share] scars with our abandon'? Is that even proper English? Or it is 'our abandoned' all along? (I'm not saying Green Day in the past were grammar champs but still.) Quote

Spike Posted August 1, 2014 Author Posted August 1, 2014 Am I going to have to share my in-depth lyrical analysis of it again? Quote
Guest Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 That's actually how he wrote for the whole trilogy. Did Fuck Time come from watching the Disney porn parodies? Quote

Guest Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Nah, Jim'll Fix It. Would've thought the song would have sounded a lot different then. More like Showadywady. Quote

Yeah not massively into those parts, although I don't think they're much less clear than some of the lyrics in 21 Guns (that being the main ballad of their previous album). I really like the chorus/ending lyrics though Don’t look away from the arms of a moment Don’t look away from the arms of tomorrow Don’t look away from the arms of a moment Don’t look away from the arms of love Just a nice simply put sentiment and nice conclusion to come to at the end of the albums, after everything that happened seizing the moment, looking forward and love are the things that matter. 1 Quote
Spike Posted August 1, 2014 Author Posted August 1, 2014 I prefer to focus on the legs of yesterday tbh. Or occasionally the nipples of a week on Tuesday. 2 Quote
