Blasphemy & Genocide: Unpopular Green Day Opinions, Part 2

The only thing he says in the last 30 seconds is "I wanna drop out" :P

I've always heard it as "I wanna jump out," so that's... interesting.

It is "jump out." Plus, it's not even a chorus. It's just a short ending.

Good point, the chorus is "the world is a sick machine" etc.

I think Panic song contains Green Days best lyrics. And I always thought the "I wanna drop out" part was referring to him leaving the world or escaping from it. But c'mon how can you not enjoy " There's a plague inside of me, eating at my disposition"

Whatever he's saying at the end (and fucked if I know, can't make out a word of it) I doubt it's about dropping out of high school, judging by the rest of the lyrics. Although I think the complaint is probably more about the repetitive nature of the lyrics.

I've always heard 'I wanna jump out', which makes much more sense in context.

How..? It's musically one of the best things they've ever done. Very simple but it's an awesome arrangement.

It's official: Insomniac is the band's attempt to sing in complete gibberish.

And yet, still more coherent than the Trilogy.

Yeah, Insomniac has great lyrics. No Pride, Panic Song, even Brain Stew "past the point of delirium" is pretty cool!

And still their best album lyrically.

Oo slipped that in there. I think it's 2nd. AI's lyrics, especially in the context of the era, have to be first. Holiday, AI, JOS, and BOBD are all legend-level lyrical works IMO.

No Pride is so damn good lyrically but people don't seem to notice b/c Billie slurs so hard in it.

I've panhandled for a life because

I'm not afraid to beg

Hand me down your lost and founds

Of second hand regret

Genius^ (as is the rest of it)

I didn't either for a while :P But as I slowly unravel (google) the lyrics to Insomniac, I realize just how many lyrical gems there are.
