Blasphemy & Genocide: Unpopular Green Day Opinions, Part 2

I don't really think it's unusual for any Green Day song to be someone's favourite here, especially a regular album track. It's a Green Day fansite so people like more of their songs and the range of favourites is much more diverse than it would be for the general public.

It's just a shock when there are so many better album tracks to go at, on Insomniac alone

I personally agree , but I don't think there's that much consensus about Insomniac, always seems to be that people pick a pretty wide variety of different favourites on there.

Stuart and the Ave is the best on Insomniac, but that's not difficult.

Every song on Insomniac is better than Westbound Sign except Tight Wad Hill and possibly Stuck with Me.

Stuck with Me has good bass in it, so it has that.

Here's a paradoxical opinion: every time I listen to Dookie in full my esteem for it goes up but my likelihood to put it in my top five GD albums goes down.

Jaded is the worst song on Insominac. It's a great song but compared to the rest of the album I think it's the weakest

There's something about Dookie and Nimrod. They're solid albums and contain some of Green Days best work, but they're just not my favourites .

Come over here and say that.

How can you pick anything but Dookie and Nimrod for first two spots? They are the best Green Day albums.

Nimrod. is in my top two. :P I'm not a fan of the dry, flat production on Dookie, and its non-single tracks are for the most part weaker than the ones on Warning or AI or Insomniac. Do I still really enjoy it? Naturally, but it's one of their most important albums without being one of their absolute best.

I'm gonna punch your opinion in the face

Alright, first of all Panic Song is the best on Insomniac. There's hardly anything to debate there. The spot for number two is highly contested, though.

Green Day's best album is American Idiot, and again the number two spot is debatable.

Finally, I used to listen to Dookie and feel like most of the non-singles were boring and repetitive. Then when I lived through my teenage years, the lyrics started making a lot of sense and feeling like they came write out of my brain. The songs themselves are like teenagers: expressing very powerful emotions in very simple/immature ways. It's quite amazing actually. Dookie never gets old for me.

Panic Song would indeed for the best if Billie hadn't felt the need to ruin it with the 30 seconds of pure shite he threw on at the end.

Never understood this, although I've seen it a lot. What's wrong with the end?

They threw a Trilogy level chorus onto the end of one of the best songs they've ever written. No one cares that you dropped out of high school Billie, stop fucking whining about it.

No way, you need the end! Can't have the build up without the release.

To be honest, I loved the trilogy. I can see why there are many negative opinions about it,why people think the songwriting was crappy, etc. I love the energy in Uno, the sexiness in Dos, and the calmer, somewhat quieter lyrics of Tre. Just my opinion.

I don't even know what that means in context.
