Spike
If Green Day had stopped making music and broke up after John left, Nobody would have to argue about their favorite albums, eras, or Billie's eyeliner, and there wouldn't be an fangirls commenting on Billie's instagram "i hope this isn't creepy, but I've been recording you" , and I wouldn't have to deal with all you people, cause GDC wouldn't exist. See, Now a bunch of people are gonna come along and pick me apart over this about how I wouldn'f even be into Green Day if they hadn't made American Idiot, and how if I don't like GDC I can leave, that's not the case, but there you go Tom, that's the inside of my asshole for you That's not actually an opinion at all
AlissaGoesRAWR
Anyways, She's a Rebel is a great song, and I hope it gets played live again someday maybe at an American Idiot 10th Anniversary show wink wink Yeah, like that's ever going to happen... Spike
Yeah, like that's ever going to happen... They've played it live a few times, it's not their fault you couldn't be bothered to turn up

AlissaGoesRAWR
They supposedly played it in Ohio once in 2005. Sorry. Yes, in Dayton, I believe, and that's one of the concerts I almost went to. But I didn't. So, yeah. I want to go cry myself to sleep now that I've rekindled that 10-years-old hatred for my parents who told teenaged me I wasn't allowed to go to a concert where they played the CD front to back. #angst

Todd
Man, it would suck to have shitty parents. Although, I probably wouldn't let my kids go to a concert if I didn't like the music, so I understand why parents do it.
DookieLukie
Definitely wouldn't let my kids go to some shit music concert. That's why I plan on playing good music to them from pregnancy on. They will subconsciously grow to love the music I love. I've already tried this on my brothers. Sometimes I hear my little brother singing Green Day songs, obviously with the wrong lyrics. Recently he was belting out "Oh Love." It's working.

Spike
Yeah I hate it when parents try to make their kids be exact copies of themselves.
DookieLukie
Yeah I hate it when parents try to make their kids be exact copies of themselves. Me too! Or when they live vicariously through their children. However, I see nothing wrong with keeping kids away from bad influences such as the majority of pop music and rap.

Yeah, I play my music around my favorite brother all the time, I got him singing Brass Monkey, but he's falling really hard for country music, I might have to change plans and go for my other brother instead

However, I'd prefer older country. Roots rock or something. Not all rap are bad influence... It depends on your personal morals I guess. Spike
It depends on your personal morals I guess. Not really. It depends on the specific artist more than anything.

Well I mean a lot of people are ok with hard drugs, using women, and being a "thug." They think it's cool. That's what I mean by morals. I'm sure a lot of people listen to it and think "Wow awesome!" I'm sure a lot of people listen to it and think "Wow awesome!"Not all about using women or being a thug And some songs you may think is about thug aren't really glorifying it they are talking about how they grew up not everyone grew up in a neighborhood where it's safe Case in point Some are just story tellinghttp://youtu.be/eXE2gx6A20k Or some about politics and social situations like http://youtu.be/vKh5p8_XFFc

Plus, the use of the N-word at all really irks me.
Spike
So what we've got from this is that DookieLukie objects to black people saying nigger. It's still off topic though. Someone should make a rap education thread and get WhiteTim and Hermione to run it. I'm serious.
