I just don't understand. What don't you like about 2000 Light Years Away?

I just split the Sweet Children songs off on iTunes and gave 'em their own artwork, so they're separate from the album.

Speaking of Kerplunk, time to drag this one out again: Christie Road is overrated. Is it really good? Of course. Is it one of their best? Hell, it's not even the best on Kerplunk by a wide margin.

Amen, brother. Christie Road only ever makes me happy when they play it live, to be quite honest. It's the Boulevard of Broken Dreams of Kerplunk.

I love Android. There are bits that are extremely silly, but the introspective lyrics and thoughts on aging and dying are expressed impressively, especially when you remember that they're coming from a barely 20-something Billie Joe.

All true, the song opening with "Hey old man in woman's shoes" and "crazy" being rhymed with "crazy" in both verses still grates on my ears though.

Ah fair enough!! There had to be at least a couple songs you didn't like :P

He truly is a modern day Dizzee Rascal.

I'm a hipster. Those two are too mainstream :P I find the lyrics of Strangeland very personal, or at least the lyrics we know. "The average person is everywhere, I got a job and now I'm scared... Feel what it's like to be wanted, and wonder why" I can connect to that, Strangeland just fits my personality so much better

Until I read this I had zero idea that those were the actual lyrics. I just hear gibberish then tbh :P I always thought this was about being high or something, not having a job aha.

I love kerplunk though, it's def one of those 'teenage' albums. Love no one knows, one for the razorbacks, one of my lies and android.

How anyone can dislike 2000 Light Years Away :o

it sounds like something off the trilogy, like Sweet 16 or 8th Avenue Serenade. It's just average. The lyrics are dumb too

How can anyone dislike a song with a flushing toilet in it?!

I listened to Kerplunk again today thanks to this discussion, and damn it's good. So many good basslines and melodies. Moar pls Green Day.

I find it hard to listen to No one Knows after the intro

what? That's literally the best intro ever after Stairway to Heaven!!

Now you're just being very silly. What's wrong with the lyrics?!

"I hold my breath and close my eyes" who the fuck does that?
