Blasphemy & Genocide: Unpopular Green Day Opinions, Part 2

I gues you overrate it since its in the middle of complete shit and is itself at least a bit better than average.

Are you saying if you really love a song but it's on an album full of filler it makes the song less good? Because I have Stay The Night on my general Green Day playlist and it stands up to the highlights of every other album.

Well, then it all comes down to your personal preference. It is a solid song but I think it wouldn't be a highlight on any other album (bar 1039 SOSH). It would be an okayish album track and would make some albums better maybe, but wouldn't be a highlight.

It is a solid pop song in my opinion, but not a great one. If you are able to appreciate it more, it is ok and I cannot argue with that since it is your personal preference :P

But to me it sounds better when it cames after two shitty songs. But when it comes after their more solid songs or on its own, it is nothing special though still good.

Lazy Bones, Nuclear Family and X-Kid are the only good songs out of the trilogy the rest is trash.

when i first heard the live version of stay the night (before the triology was a thing at all) i loved it, but the studio version never really did anything for me

yes, the live version of stay the night was the best and powerful songof the trilogy before it was released along with nuclear family, when i watched for example shepherd's bush version of nuclear family, it was stunning but then the album version of both were a bit disappointing

nevertheless, i love those songs along with rusty james, fell for you and sweet 16, awesome melodies and stuff

People like Lazy Bones don't they? Pretty sure it's a (if not the) favourite from Dos, with it's more serious and very relatable lyrics.

Idk I only like 3 songs in total from the entire trilogy so I don't think I'm an authority to speak for the community. :P

I think it's somewhat unpopular to like it.

But basically those who do dislike it can go burn in hell

It's my favourite song of Dos, so, I'm part of the people.

Okay, is there actually someone who actually likes Don't Leave Me?

And Prosthetic Head. I don't know why, but that song's really not my cup of tea. Somebody shoot me.

I like Dont leave me but the album version is, in my opinion, worse than the live one.

i've always really liked prosthetic head. not sure why. i think i'm a sucker for the heavy bass and harsh contrast between the verses and chorus.

Idk I just listened to Quadrophenia and it was pretty good, but I like UNO DOS and TRE a lot more.

:shok::cry::mad::P

You're back! :runaround: I love it so much. Part of it is that it's the second-best closing song they've ever done, and part of it is, as said above, the contrast between verses and chorus. And it makes for an awesome singalong live.

Prosthetic Head is a fantastic song on many levels. I don't listen to it enough, I really love it. But it's not actually anything special in a technical sense. I've never understood the comments people have made in the past about how it's different to anything else they've ever done. Er, no it's not.

I don't get what is so specific about it. To me it sounds like a normal, though good, album track.

Might not be different technically but it does sound different to me. I can't think of another song/songs I'd pair it with or put it in a group with.

I Hope that the next album isn't a opera or has any kind of a story line, rather I would just prefer a studio live album. By this I mean all the songs recording in one take with minimal mixing.

Assuming they do another studio album that is

Demoliscious is probally the closet Green Day will ever have to a live in studio album...

Billie's been talking a live album for the last 10 years now and every album seems he backs out on it the trilogy was set up to sound like it was live

I love both of them. Don't Leave Me's riff is so fucking fun to play. And Prosthetic Head is one of their most underrated songs.

I haven't listened to either in a long time, but I love PH and I think I like DLM.

Just sounds like loose to me - I can't hear a a slurring sound - fell for you on the other hand sounds like he is singing with a mouthful of gum. The slurring sound at the start really annoys me.

I think he actually did sing most of the trilogy with a mouthful of gum. Remember the bit in Cuatro where he and Lady Cobra are recording "Nightlife"?

Maybe he's just trolled the shit out of us and Demolicious was what he was referring to all along. That said, given how Demolicious sounds, maybe he expected the finished Trilogy to sound something like the demos and that's why he made the comments he did at the time.
