Guest
Never got the hype for the Network. Their only tolerable songs are Right-Hand-A-Rama and Roshambo. And Spike, I guess, but that barely counts as a song. Hammer Of The Gods is pretty cool. And that Misfits cover they did wasn't bad.
ifmemoryserves
pretty unrelated but i just realized my two favorite bands have both had songs in transformers and twilight movies......................
captain peroxide
Hammer Of The Gods is pretty cool. And that Misfits cover they did wasn't bad. Hammer is okay. That cover was great though, but that's more because of the Misfits.

And Spike, I guess, but that barely counts as a song. I've only ever been able to listen to about 30 seconds of any Network song before my eyes and ears start to bleed and I have to squeeze my balls in a vice just to relieve the pain. I ought to give them a fair listen one day I guess
Anaïs.
They'd definitely be down there. Along with half of Uno, virtually all of Dos, the last 4 on Kerplunk and Horseshoes and Handgrenades. Might as well throw in The Network while we're at it. Horseshoes and Handgrenades isn't bad, goddammit! Why will no one understand?!
captain peroxide
Horseshoes and Handgrenades isn't bad, goddammit! Why will no one understand?! It's not bad, it's terrible. Like, if you're gonna rip off the Hives, at least turn it into a good song.
AmyxLongview
I like The Network just as much or more than FBHT.

ifmemoryserves
ok speaking of side bands, this is probably a really unpopular opinion, but i could never get into foxboro hot tubs at all... i just don't enjoy their music.

ifmemoryserves
Ehhh if you don't feel the whole retro vibe I can understand that. I like FBHT partly for the same reasons I enjoyed Foreverly, because it reminds me of music my dad listened to as I was growing up and it's just really comforting to me I don't understand how anyone can't like "Pieces of Truth" though????yeah, that type of music is just not what i'm looking for from green day. and i realize that's the whole point of making a side band etc, i'm just not really interested in it. i know objectively the music is good, i'm just not really into it, but i understand why others are. i can enjoy some of their stuff from time to time, but honestly i've probably never given it enough time to fully appreciate it. Jollyroger118
You know how Kerplunk (the era in which it was written) is part uninspired songs about girls and part songs about the future? Haushinka falls on the former's side. There's no wordplay whatsoever and the lyrics are far too blunt for my taste, it flat out says "I met a girl with a weird name and missed my chance and now I miss her" with nothing else to it. Not much is happening in the music to make up for it, either. Scattered (the first verse and chorus also being from 1992), on the other hand, is a song from that era I can get behind. I think Billie could have done a lot more to touch it up when they decided to put it on Nimrod. How do you know that about Scattered? Spike
not to mention the fact that the sax solo is pure sex. Of course it is, it's a sax solo.
The Disappearing Boy
Hearts collide is sweet and a fun song. Mikes harmony is awesome too Definitely underrated. Not a big fan of Lights Out. Mind you, I guess it is a b-side ...
Guest
You're all deaf, Hearts Collide is fucking terrible. It's a sugary sweet mash of uncatchy riffs with a barely discernible melody and pointless harmonies fucking off in 10 directions at once. I don't think I've ever listened to it more than once, and that was when I first downloaded it 4 years ago. Would have fitted in perfectly on the Trilogy. And Lights Out kicks fucking ass. It's Green Day at their powerful punchy best, Tré blasting away on the drums, Mike firing off a huge bass riff, and Billie Joe showing he has some sneer and anger left in him. It'd be a great live song.
green day is
Would have fitted in perfectly on the Trilogy. I was just listening to it and had that exact same thought. Seriously, though, I know we were talking about LNOE being cliché earlier, but HC blows it right out of the fucking water. It sounds like a teenage girl wrote it.
