Blasphemy & Genocide: Unpopular Green Day Opinions, Part 2

I always thought it was "I wanna drop out". I suppose it doesn't really matter, they both convey the same message.

I listened to Dos for the first time in a long time a couple of days ago. I think it's great, except Nightlife just seems to get worse everytime I listen to it and Wild One really has no lasting appeal whatsoeverl, those "WIIIILD ONE" backing vocals really kill it for me. Otherwise it is one of the best things Green Day has ever put out.

I really don't get the hate for Wild One, its slightly darker than Green Days usual stuff which i like and the solos sexy

Anything on Insomniac makes Wild One sound like Justin Bieber fucking a doughnut in the middle of Disneyland.

It's not a terrible song, it is just too long and boring. It doesn't really offer anything new, it would be a much better listen if it was just a 3 minute song. And the solo sounds like Mike Ness came into the studio and recorded it.

I had no idea there were backing vocals in Wild One because it's too much of a struggle to get past the intro.

I think you're all crazy, Wild Ones awesome its got such a great dark vibe though of course the lyrics are crap though I do like the chorus a lot. But the instruments are amazing IMO and I think it hit the vibe that DOS was going for better than any other on the album

Congratulations on not being one of the painfully musically illiterate people who hear a band play triplets for a bar and assume it sounds that way because there's something wrong with the CD.

What?

I always thought it was "I wanna drop out".

Me too.

The solo is its only redeeming factor imo.

out of all the shit songs on the trilogy i still don't see why people hate wild one so much :P

"I'm drinking the Kool-Aid/I jumped on the gruh-nade..." In addition to its sucking, the attempted rhyme is so painful I wince every time I think of it.

I agree. Why hate that one when there are shit songs like "Fell For You" on the trilogy?

Fell For You is great, poor lyrics though

That's why I can't stand it, though. If the lyrics in a song are lacking, even if the music itself is alright, I just don't like it.

Haha, so I guess you can't really stand the trilogy :P

I don't even think it's the lyrics that are the problem. If ever a song needed to be about 100bpm faster to make sense it's that one. It just feels so weird and lethargic, listening to it feels like wading through treacle.

Actually, it is kinda funny, because I like the trilogy (way more than a lot of people on here), but at the same time, it has the greatest number of songs I consider to be Green Day's worst.

Haha, that's exactly what I'm feeling ^^ I have to admit the overall job put on the trilogy is lame but I like it anyway

It comes back to the issue of quality control. If you release so many songs some of them are bound to be good but it comes at the price of a higher number of duds.

What?

People thought that the bar of triplets in the last chorus of Church On Sunday was the CD skipping.

As you'd know if you'd read any of the posts I was responding to.
