The exact quote from Billie was

"I couldn't spend another second at Jingletown".

Thanks for posting that I hadn't seen that before

I think what he meant is that he had wanted a change of environment. He specifically mentioned they've worked there for the last 15 years. It must have been like going to a regular job. Maybe working in a different studio just felt better.

Well most people hate their "regular job" and I would hope Billie doesn't feel that way about playing music. I would hope he doesn't feel that creating albums or songs or jamming with his bandmates isn't the same as a nine to five at Mc Donalds or some shitty office job. Prior to his statement about not wanting to spend another second there I assumed they sold Jingletown because it made financial sense. The choice of words are weird to me.

Wanting to keep things feeling fresh and not too routine when creating music by changing studios, as they have the option to do that, isn't the same as thinking playing music is the same as a nine to five job. Could be a combination of factors that prompted the move.

Working at different studios and going to different studios I can say that every studio all have different feels and sounds and for the creative types im sure using the same spot for a long period of time may start to feel draining so he (and/or the band) may found the location of Otis and tried it out and enjoy the smallness of the place and feel more inspired there I think moving out of Jingletown is more of a tiredness and also a financial move they're bored of a huge ass studio plus they had opened up the studio for other bands to use so they now have certain times they can be there alone (as it used to be a private studio for GD and I've heard they are private when it comes to recording sessions) so why keep paying huge amount of money a month when they found another place they are more at home in and happy at I could be wrong in that view

I was responding to Jane who said

Also wanting to keep things fresh doesn't explain why he "can't stand to spend another second" in the place. That sounds more like he hates it for some reason.

Well yeah it doesn't have to be taken literally though, think it's pretty clear what Jane meant.

It could've been he felt very strongly that way, that he couldn't stand being there any more and needed a change (maybe to the point of hating it). Without him saying more seems a plausible explanation as to why he'd say it.

:shy: Some people actually have an interest in the process of recording and the production of Green Day's material.

Some people have an interest in taking everything literally - I am not one of those people - that's why I said who care's but I like the shirts.

Well I think what you mean is some fans like to discuss recording studios and stuff that bores you so you need to tell them you don't care because you feel they will somehow care about you not caring. But yay shirts.

The way they have the masks propped up on top of the shirts in that pic is really creepy looking. Especially Billies.

Yeah they actually look all distorted and different from how they look on the guys or the actors in the video and makes me wonder if they are of the same quality but it's probably just the weird way they're hanging.
