Random Green Day Thoughts

I hope Billie doesn't write a song about Ferguson

Sir Alex, sir Alex, show me your rolex

Sir Alex, sir Alex, nobody can guess

sir Alex, dear Alex, we were the best

sir Alex's gone, boy, who'll be the next?

But can someone objectively explain to me what is good about Makeout Party? I simply don't get it. At all. Even if I take the fact that it's a Green Day song out of the equation, it's just plain bad.

It's got a cool(ish) solo and a cool bass line. Not enough to save the song though, in my opinion.

Does he do anything apart from play root notes? It's been over a year since I've listened to it, I can't remember.

For some reason last night, I thought that the White Stripes' "Fell In Love With a Girl" sounded similar to Lady Cobra.

I must have been deliriously tired, because I dislike them.

Dislike The White Stripes or dislike Lady Cobra?

Their first two chords are the same, that's probably what you heard.

I think a lot of the singing kind of sounds similar too (eg "Fell in love with a girl...", "Well I met a girl named Lady Cobra..."), sounds like you could sing one song over the other quite easily.

Bootleg

Baba uvula who desensitize suffocate would not be on a GH cd lol (as great as those songs are they just wouldn't)

If it were real they could've just been like "Hey, we like these songs!"

But you're probably right.

But I could see "Desensitized" being on a GH album. It was included as its own 7 inch single in the Ultimate Collectors vinyl box set.

It was released in Russia, and it says reprise on the back. However, Basket Case is misspelled. So I don't really know. It could be an unlawful placement of the reprise logo

Nah it's just bog standard root notes. Unfortunately, that's become the norm for Mike over the last 10 years or so. The solo still sounds pretty cool, though.

Well, yeah. That IS how MLG people spell it.

But seriously, I guess we'll never know. I have a poster with the cover to this album, if that means anything.

I'll never know how Mike plays the bass part and sings the chorus of No One Knows at the same time. Absolute genius.

Well, he doesn't ^^ On the album version anyway, he would only on a live performance.

Sounds like Billie sings both parts at the end, just like he does most of the baking vocals on the trilogy

That song just amazes me, I love it.

Agreed. Definitely one of their most underrated tracks.

Forsure, was it ever on album? I never heard it on a album only by itself.

You were talking about No One Knows, right? The one on Kerplunk..?

I'm pretty sure most of us can relate to the kind of hazy infatuation that Makeout Party is recreating.

Not I.
