Hermione
Does nobody care about The Influents anymore? I can't even find a thread for them. Life and Life Only is one of my favorite songs. I hadn't heard it in about 5 years and this summer I found it on youtube again and truthfully, spent a good 10 minutes sobbing.Hi, this thread is for Random thoughts concerning Green Day. For other random thoughts, please use this thread. Also, if you can't find a thread for an artist you like, feel free to make one!In addition to this good advice, there is already an Influents thread in Other Artists so you can go ahead and post about them there:http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/72320-the-influents/?hl=%2Binfluents(I can see why you might have posted about them here though, it being a Green Day related band with Jason and Bill S in it)
Iva
Certified NimMod. Good work. I misread that and imagined a kaiju type of a thing who is a combo of Certified Nimrod and NimJim...make that a CertifiedJimrod.
Pat1308
So, I just found something - a collage-comic I made in May 1998. It's about Billie and me fighting monsters in Egypt, where we arrived at Boris Yeltsin's call for Albanian intellectuals. It makes sense. Pics or it didn't happen. I'm really loving Kerplunk right now.

Mayonaise
Has 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours EVER been released on vinyl? I mean, 39/Smooth has. And that doesn't have a CD release. (As far as I know.) Yet 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours has a CD release yet no vinyl release. (Again, as far as I know.) Sorry if that doesn't belong here, but I thought that was worth pointing out. Popular Post Iva
Pics or it didn't happen. Sure. (Page 1) B.J. and I.T. are the main protagonists, and this is THE STORY YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THREE THOUSAND YEARS! and its name is CASTLE IN THE DUMPS He was a special person. Even after three years, he was a big star and he lived in belief that his marriage was very romantic, which was indeed true! He lived in a nice house with his wife and child. A friendly domestic kitty kept them company... (Page 2) He had an attitude and he would always look straight into people's eyes, with spite, he would respond to all provocations in a humorous, sincere and open manner. Unlike him, she was a student of the Fifth Belgrade High, crazy and...on the loose? She was always in good company, but whenever she would see him, she would get totally lost... (Page 3) ...because to her he was as beautiful as a carrot, though the rest of the world didn't seem to think so. Random people: He needs to be locked up! She wanted to meet him. The only thing she didn't know is how to make that happen. What a lucky day, Boris Yeltsin just announced a call to Albanian intellectuals and the two of them ran to meet there. She went on foot, (Page 4) ...while he had to sail over the ocean. He was a bit nervous because... ...the guy he sat next to in the boat was directly irritating him with his cruel behaviour. She was anxious and she read everything she could, from the horoscope to Tin's column "Evgenija". Within just an hour, she read all the possible nonsense that existed in the world. Not even Banderas would manage that. (Page 5) On that wonderful meeting, the two of them met each other and they decided to fund an agency for solving mysteries, just like the one featuring everybody's favourite, Scooby Doo. They went around the world singing Hey-ho. They arrived to Egypt. The whole country was scared because they knew that there was a ghost walking around the corridors of a pyramid. A sympathetic old man told them that... (Page 6) ...sounds described as "BOBBALLOO HARAPJ RA'" could be heard. The two of them agreed that such a thing was spooky. The next morning, they bravely went in the face of danger. After they left their belongings at the "Welcome to year 2000" hotel, they went straight to the danger zone. (Page 7) "Let's take the back entrance!" They looked at the map and went. Meanwhile, something killed the poor old man who warned them. And they were too attacked, also in the meantime (?), but they made it. [The writing on the Old man's shirt reads "Capone & co" and "I <3 Al Capone"] (Page 8) She begged him to save the world from that scary monster!!! He was brave, so it only took him one grimace... ...to get rid of that awful menace, forever! (It got a heart attack and died instantly*) [The writing on the cross: MONSTER 1098-1998] (Page 9) He approached her and said: "We avoided catastrophe in the very last moment." So the star and the extra smart lady went back to the normal world. Without a doubt, their accomplishment was a big deal. The first person to congratulate them was his best friend. (Page 10) then some of her friends from elementary school then Ljubiša Ristić (one sexy guy) Ljubiša Ristić: "Way to go, you're as cool as JUL." and even the famous Merima Njegomir, who also had a compliment to give. Merima Njegomir: "A guy like him is hard to find!" The two of them were stars and heroes now. They made a deal to be pen-pals. (Page 11) She went back to being in good company and studying at the Fifth Belgrade High. He went back to his loving wife and his second greatest love... MUNCHIES! (we all know that he's elegantly overweight!) "How romantic!" said Milan Milutinović and then came THE END to this story. Copyright © All rights reserved May 15th 1998 by I.T. Todd
This is the best GD remix, and I never listen to latin music or anything like this. It's just so damn relaxing.

Well that's way better than I expected. Would be interesting to see it done with the Clash version. It's funny—Billie lisps really badly when the electric guitar and Tre's drums are removed.

Iva
Somebody needs to make this into a movie right quick. Only if Billie plays himself and is capable of making a face that kills monsters after all these years. Oxymore, since you like this so much, you can be the teenage me! Casting solved, mostly. Certified Nimrod
why? Bands usually only put 1 or 2 songs on a comp. I think he meant because the song is "alone" on the compilation.

Maid Meringue
I "think" I'm going to turn off all the lights, put a blindfold on and listen to Stop Drop & Roll. Yes it's green day it it counts haven't listened to them properly in a few years, but I just now realized that Broadway is in reference to the street in Oakland, not New York. Oops.
