Random Green Day Thoughts

Finally I have found something Green Day related near me!  Project Chimp is in Georgia, a totally doable drive.  Woohoo!

I might volunteer one day.

It's so weird when you look at the Hella Mega page on Wikipedia the list is so short. I get the logic of not including the GD only dates but just makes it look like there were barely any shows. Don't know if that makes sense

When you whistle the "I was sober now I'm drunk again" part in Dilemma, it sounds like Joe Jackson's Is She Really Going Out with Him.

You're so right!! Now I can't unhear it

(Probably) A hot take.

I prefer how Minority was played early into the Warning Tour; where it just had a bass breakdown rather than a guitar and harmonica fanfare. Not to say I don't enjoy how it's played now, I guess it just felt more energetic how it was played then.

back when i was a huge green day fan (up until a couple of years ago before i realised celebrity worship is worthless and stopped putting hopes and expectations in people), my brain used to make up elaborate fake scenarios and daydreams about a certain frontman being my real dad/adoptive dad which consumed my daily life (i have issues) but it “got better” when i stopped investing so much time and energy in this band. I didn’t really listen to their songs at all or keep up with news so i kinda stopped caring altogether. then a couple of months ago i bought a ticket for a show which is next week and i thought

well guess what. 🤡

Listening to Jesse Malin’s The Art of Self Destruction from 2003 and notice there’s a song on there called Cigarettes and Violets. Can’t help but think about C&V which would have been happening around the same time (2002). It’s interesting. Who inspired who?

Man, I'm missing the Green Dudes Podcast.   I know they'll back at some point, but it's painful.

I miss The Nimrods Podcast, they really missed the boat not reviewing Saviors. I would love to hear their thoughts

I haven't done that one yet. I miss the Redundant Green Day podcast too, they haven't come back to talk Saviors, which is a bummer.

Looking at the band's albums on wikipedia, they have all "received generally favorable reviews" except Father of All, which got "mixed reviews".

Really wish I could be at the UK shows but with these huge venues I'm still just not well enough (well might be able to make it through the show but not the travelling, etc) :(

Next time hopefully!

Just realized the solo in Goodnight Adeline reminds me a bit of Prima Donna's Bless This Mess.

I don't know how related this may be, but I was browsing on setlist.fm and excuse me, what? Black Sabbath by Iron Maiden? This is the best mix up.

The post-GD-tour-void is kicking in right now😢 On the one hand I feel so happy and grateful that I was able to attend 4 shows and I'm full of wonderful memories, but on the other hand I already miss them and the time between tours is always so long.

I wasn't sure where to post this, but are we really going to ignore the fact that it is Billie and Adrienne's 30th wedding anniversary?! Surprised that no one has sad anything about it today.

Happy 30th Anniversary Billie and Adrienne!  That's no small feat!  I speak from experience having celebrated my 30th in October!  Congratulations!
